Help us wish longtime El Valor resident, Stanley, a very happy 76th birthday!
Stanley has been part of the El Valor family for more than 37 years, first joining our Workforce Development program and working in janitorial services. During that time, he also lived in one of our residential homes for adults with disabilities, where he still calls home today.
Stanley’s story is just one of thousands across El Valor. Every individual in our program has their own story, interests, and experiences that come together to create the El Valor community.

Last week, El Valor’s Children and Family Centers celebrated the moms, caregivers, and mother figures who are such an important part of our community.
Across our four Centers, families came together for paint classes, Zumba, coffee and conchas, children’s performances, and other special activities to celebrate the people who show up for our little ones every day.
Families are at the heart of everything we do, and it was a joy to honor the women who help our children and communities thrive.

El Valor was proud to travel to Springfield for Early Childhood Advocacy Day yesterday. Staff and parents from our children’s program had the opportunity to meet with elected officials and advocate for our families and community.
At El Valor, we believe parents are powerful voices for change. Through our programs, families gain the tools, knowledge, and confidence to speak up for the support and resources their children deserve. We are proud to see them leading the way and making their voices heard. 🙌🏼

Día del Niño is a celebration of childhood, recognizing the joy, creativity, and importance of children in our families and communities.
Last week, all four of El Valor’s Children and Family Centers celebrated with activities and special moments dedicated to our little ones. The highlight was our Pollinators Parade. Children dressed as butterflies, bees, flowers, and other pollinators to parade through the neighborhood with their families.
Thank you to our staff, families, and volunteers who helped make this week so special for our children. 💛🦋🐝🌸

We were proud to join They Deserve More Action Day in Springfield, standing with advocates across the state to support Direct Support Professionals and the people who rely on them every day.
El Valor employs over 65 DSPs who provide direct, 24/7 care to our community. Their work is essential and deserves fair, sustainable wages. Stronger DSP wages mean better staffing, stronger support, and better outcomes for people with disabilities.
The Governor’s proposed budget falls short of the wage increase goal Illinois set in 2020. We are urging legislators to move closer to that commitment. Our employees and community deserve this.
It only takes a minute to use click-to-call link below. Please take the time to stand with the El Valor community. https://www.theydeservemore.com/take-action/
