Just as a child learns to speak before reading or writing, we introduce piano in a natural, intuitive way to build confidence from day one. At Payam Music, we’re transforming the way piano is taught. While traditional methods have remained unchanged since Mozart’s era, our revolutionary curriculum enables students to learn faster and more effectively. Our students consistently outperform national averages, with 95% reaching diploma level in just 4-5 years, compared to the national average of 1-2% over 10-12 years. In 2024, our students competed against over 300,000 participants, taking all 5 top state spots and 4 of the top 14 national spots in the prestigious PTA Reflections competition. We currently operate two locations in Washington and are rapidly expanding, with our third location coming to Irvine soon.

Meet the Director of our Bethesda, MD piano school, Katie. 🎹
Katie has a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Pedagogy from Campbell University and graduated summa cm laude. She brings 17 years of teaching experience (across two continents!) to Payam Music. She’s passionate about making piano lessons fun, encouraging, and accessible for every student.
Here’s what the parent of one of her students in Bethesda has to say: My 9 year old loves Payam Music. In his own, unprompted words, “this place is much better at teaching piano. They give you pieces that teach you skills, instead of just the same stuff over and over.”

Huge congratulations to Payam Music student Damoon! 🎹🏆
This year, 20 Payam Music students joined nearly 1,500 students competing at the Washington State level of the PTA Reflections competition. In the age divisions we competed in, 5 of the 6 students who earned state recognition were Payam Music students!
And it didn’t stop there. Damoon advanced to the national level, where he earned a National Award of Excellence for his original composition, “The Puzzle.” 🎶
We couldn’t be prouder of Damoon and all of our students for sharing their creativity and musicianship on such a big stage. Congratulations, Damoon!
