Our mission is to equip people with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed to lead useful and productive lives with dignity, respect and independence.
How it All Started
In the 1970s, vocational training was offered at the far end of Palm Beach County. Due to the distance, families in Boca Raton and nearby areas found it difficult to send their family members there. In 1973, 12 acres of land on Boca Rio Road was donated by the Palm Beach County Commission. This was the beginning of the Habilitation Center for the Handicapped, Inc. (HabCenter).

What a special day at HabCenter! Alex’s mom, Christiane, hosted a memorable birthday celebration for Alex and all of our program individuals and staff.
She arranged for Personal Ponies Florida to visit with their wonderful ponies, giving everyone the opportunity to brush, feed, and walk the ponies while enjoying a truly unique and joyful experience. The smiles, laughter, and excitement were unforgettable, and we loved gathering together to sing Happy Birthday to Alex.
Thank you to Sandra and the entire Personal Ponies Florida team for sharing your time, kindness, and wonderful ponies with us. Your visit brought so much happiness to everyone involved.
