Meet the Volen Center, one of the 12 finalists for Men Giving Back of SPBC’s 2026 Golden Grants.

Serving communities from Broward to Palm Beach County, the Volen Center enhances the well-being of South Florida seniors by educating and advocating on their behalf and providing health care and supportive services that address their physical, emotional, social and psychological needs. The organization began in 1968 as the South County Neighborhood Center at Boca Raton.

The Volen Center offers adult day care in secure, supervised environments for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease, cognitive impairments or chronic physical illnesses. Its Life Enrichment program provides nutrition, education, recreation and intergenerational programming for older adults.

Additional services include care management, home-delivered meals, companion care, respite services, homemaking assistance and personal care. The organization also provides transportation to medical appointments and other important destinations through its fleet of buses and wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

Meet the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County, one of the 12 finalists for Men Giving Back of SPBC’s 2026 Golden Grants.

The mission of the Literacy Coalition of Palm Beach County is to improve the quality of life in the community by promoting and achieving literacy. Its vision is to ensure that every child and adult in Palm Beach County becomes a reader.

The organization offers countywide literacy programs for children, adults and families in communities from Jupiter to Boca Raton and Belle Glade. Its children’s programs support early literacy skills, verbal interaction, parent-child bonding and school readiness.

Through Building Better Readers, the Literacy Coalition recruits, trains and supports volunteers who tutor students struggling with reading. Its Literacy AmeriCorps program also recruits and trains members to serve as tutors, coaches and teachers throughout Palm Beach County.

Meet Feed the Hungry Pantry of Palm Beach County, one of the 12 finalists for Men Giving Back of SPBC’s 2026 Golden Grants.

The mission of Feed the Hungry Pantry of Palm Beach County is to end hunger in Palm Beach County. The volunteer-run organization distributes nutritious food to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity throughout the county.

Each month, Feed the Hungry provides free food boxes to families across Palm Beach County. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, the organization expands its pantry program to serve families referred by local nonprofit organizations and community missions, providing holiday food baskets that include chickens, hams and turkeys.

Feed the Hungry also partners with the Health Care District of Palm Beach County to provide healthy food to senior citizens, veterans and neighbors with disabilities. The organization distributes donated and rescued items including meat, vegetables, fruit, eggs, milk, bread, canned goods and other pantry staples.

Meet Caridad Center, one of the 12 finalists for Men Giving Back of SPBC’s 2026 Golden Grants.

The mission of Caridad Center is to upgrade the health, education and living standards of underserved children and families. Its vision is to eliminate the cycle of poverty for the families it serves in South Florida.

Founded in 1989, Caridad Center is Florida’s largest free and charitable clinic. The organization provides comprehensive medical, vision, dental, behavioral health and social services to uninsured and underserved children and families in Palm Beach County.

Caridad Center’s medical clinic offers primary and specialty care, while its eye and dental clinics provide vision care and preventive and restorative dental services. The organization also offers education and outreach programs, including Community Health Worker programs that connect patients and families with health information and resources.

Meet the Delray Beach Public Library, one of the 12 finalists for Men Giving Back of SPBC’s 2026 Golden Grants.

The mission of the Delray Beach Public Library is to ignite curiosity, fuel discovery and encourage creativity through access to trusted information, resources and community connection. Founded in 1913, the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization has served the Delray Beach community for more than a century.

The library offers a physical collection of more than 136,000 items and access to more than one million digital and streaming resources, including books, movies, audiobooks, magazines and databases. It also hosts approximately 2,000 educational, entertaining and engaging programs that attract more than 18,000 people in an average year.

Its services include programs for children, teens and adults, technology classes, career development and job assistance, digital resources and homework support. The library’s children’s staff presents more than 400 programs for approximately 9,500 children in an average year, including STREAM activities exploring drones, robotics and space.

What a night at The Boca Raton 💚🤍

Thank you to every member who joined us for the Spring Social — it was a great evening all around. Seeing so many familiar faces in the room, alongside the 24 organizations that received their Golden Balls, is a reminder of why this community is so special.

12 finalists have been selected, now the countdown to November begins.

We'll see you at the Golden Evening at Royal Palm Yacht Club, where one organization will walk away with a grant of up to $100,000. Until then, thank you for everything you do to make Men Giving Back's mission possible. 🌴
