# # # PART TWO: WELL, BLESS ALL THAT “FREE” WORK.

Last time, we talked about that 15%.

Today, let’s talk about what happens when **15% of nothing is… well… nothing.**

Because percentage-based co-hosting has an interesting little feature:

**No booking = no percentage.**

But somehow…

**No booking does NOT always = no work.** 😏

Before a guest ever clicks “Reserve,” somebody may already be:

🍑 Reviewing the property and making recommendations.

🍑 Researching the competition.

🍑 Working on pricing and availability.

🍑 Tweaking titles, descriptions and listing details.

🍑 Answering prospective guest questions that never turn into reservations.

🍑 Marketing the property on social media.

🍑 Talking with tourism partners and local businesses.

🍑 Building relationships with cleaners, maintenance people and other vendors.

🍑 Coordinating repairs, replacements and improvements.

🍑 Researching platform changes and new policies.

🍑 Troubleshooting Airbnb and Vrbo issues.

🍑 Reviewing calendars and upcoming availability.

🍑 Talking through strategy with an owner.

🍑 And occasionally having that “quick phone call” that somehow develops a mortgage and stays for two hours. 😂

And then?

The guest books somewhere else.

The dates remain empty.

Or the owner blocks the calendar.

**Revenue to the co-host: $0.**

That doesn't mean every conversation needs an invoice attached to it.

Relationships matter.

Service matters.

Going above and beyond sometimes is simply part of running a good business.

But there is a difference between **providing great service** and building a business model around giving away professional expertise indefinitely.

That’s where both sides need to understand the relationship.

Owners should know what their co-host is actually doing behind the scenes.

And co-hosts need to know where service ends and **unpaid consulting begins.**

Because that 10%, 15% or 20% isn't just paying someone to answer a message after a reservation arrives.

In many models, it's helping support the entire little ecosystem that makes that reservation possible in the first place.

Some months are fabulous.

Some months?

You can work your peach off and earn **15% of absolutely nothing.** 🍑

That’s percentage-based co-hosting.

The math isn't being mean, sugar.

**It's still just math.**
