MasteryPrep started with a simple observation from Founder and CEO Craig Gehring: many students struggle on high-stakes tests not because they forget the content, but because they never had the opportunity to fully master the underlying skills in the first place. π‘
That insight became the foundation of MasteryPrep and continues to shape our work with more than 3,000 schools and districts nationwide.
Since its founding in 2013, MasteryPrep has grown from one-on-one tutoring sessions into a school-first model designed to make readiness support accessible to all students. Today, MasteryPrep offers a comprehensive suite of solutions, including live instruction, curricular resources, and a digital platform, spanning multiple assessments. π

At Red Oak High School just outside Dallas, leaders faced a challenge: too many students were not passing STAAR Algebra I, and even fewer were reaching Meets or Masters.
So, in December 2025, they took a targeted approach to STAAR readiness by implementing a MasteryPrep Boot Camp, delivered right before testing and focusing specifically on re-testers. The session reinforced key standards, sharpened test-taking strategies, and built student confidence. π―
The results:
π STAAR Algebra I re-testers reaching Meets + Masters increased from 4% to 22% from 2024 to 2025
π Passing rates among re-testers rose from 39% to 47% year-over-year
Many students who reached Masters had attempted the test multiple times without success, showing that with the right focus and timing, even a short intervention can drive meaningful gains. Read the full story: https://bit.ly/47wt5vD
