A mid-project catch-up hits differently when the scope is complex and decisions made today shape months of delivery.

That’s why last week our team flew to Senegal with our project partner, Antologic, to work on-site with the client.

The goal isn’t “status updates.” It’s deep technical workshops on the next stage of a complex application: mapping dependencies, sketching architecture and data flows, and pressure-testing decisions before they turn into months of rework. Just as important, we look beyond pure engineering - user behavior, legal constraints, and real-world usage patterns often shape the best technical choices.

We’re still in the thick of delivery, but we’re confident we’ll be able to share the outcomes of this collaboration in the coming months.

On-site sessions are how we shorten feedback loops and reduce risk. If the project needs context, we’ll land in Dakar, Dubai, or Odense. Good software starts with understanding the people and the environment it serves.

Yesterday, devices went up inside the Eastern Hall of the Poznań International Fair. Not decoration - hardware that will collect real data as part of a project we've been developing with Poznań City Lab.

The aim is to understand how one of Poznań's most iconic venues is actually used, and to test ideas for improving it before anything changes in the physical world. We're initiating the project alongside partners like RCS Engineering sp. z o.o. and the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Center.

Our role is to make sure the data these devices generate actually means something - presented clearly, interpreted well, and translated into decisions that improve the physical space for real visitors.

Last week we were on-site with HYDAC Group team in Odense, Denmark, running workshops on the next stage of the Fluid Care Portal. This time, the spotlight was on IoT: integrating sensors and cloud connectivity in a way that helps teams react earlier, decide faster, and keep assets healthy.

It was another step in a partnership built on regular, two-way, in-person sessions - keeping the feedback loop short and decisions grounded in real-world context.

Thank you to HYDAC for the hospitality and for the commitment you bring to this collaboration. We’re excited to take the platform to the next level with valuable new features and bring it even closer to end users.

How can we discuss development in a way that genuinely supports it, rather than merely judging it? Our leaders spent last week's workshops looking for the answer.

Instead of dry theory, we focused on practical skills: active listening and communication based on facts and respect. We want our 1:1s and periodic reviews to go beyond a simple exchange of information. We also dedicated a lot of time to the art of feedback - learning how to discuss growth in a way that builds confidence rather than demotivates. All of this is to ensure our conversations about the future provide the team with the genuine support they need.

The best holidays aren’t one-size-fits-all.

They’re made from the things closest to us: a grandma’s recipe nobody else can replicate, decorations that tell our story, and customs that might seem odd to outsiders but feel perfectly right to us 🧡 .

So this year, let’s celebrate everything local and personal. Because great holidays are custom-built (just like software 😉) - shaped by the people who enjoy them, refined over time, and designed for the specific joy of those who celebrate them.

What a night it was! 🎄

Our Christmas party was a perfect reminder of how great it feels to meet in person, slow things down, and simply enjoy time together outside of our daily routines.

From lively conversations and lots of laughter to friendly matches of darts and air hockey, the evening was full of good vibes. There was a charity raffle, dancing, plenty of fun, and long talks that had nothing to do with deadlines or roadmaps, just genuine connections in a festive atmosphere.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped create such a warm, vibrant evening. We’re grateful for another year together and for the people who make Merixstudio what it is!

Yesterday brought a genuinely inspiring mix of perspectives at Positive Technologies - an event that once again proved how much interesting thinking happens when our local tech community, business, and public sector meet in one place.

AI was the common thread, but each talk approached it from a different angle: from hands-on developer workflows, through organisation-wide adoption and change management, to the impressive AI infrastructure now being built in Poland, including here in Poznań.

Our Head of Technology, Miłosz Kusiciel, added his voice to the discussion with a talk on a topic that rarely leaves anyone neutral: how accelerating automation reshapes the early stages of a software career.

We also want to thank our partner, Poznan City Lab, for bringing us into this year’s edition and for hosting a sharp, well-framed panel on applying AI in urban environments - one that highlighted both the opportunities and the real constraints shaped by law, talent, and everyday operations.

A great day for exchanging ideas - and a reminder of how valuable these local conversations can be.
