Our Transitions family is growing 💕 Heather Olson, is officially on maternity leave as her family prepares to welcome their first baby. We are so excited for Heather and will miss her dearly while she takes some time off to enjoy her new little one!

We wanted to post a reminder to our clients about what to do during the current rotating diversions for the Maternity Ward at RMH. As always please page us if you are in labor or for any other urgent medical concerns. This does not change during diversion dates, the on call midwife will call you back and discuss the next steps. Diversion procedures and dates will be discussed during prenatal appointments with those in late pregnancy.

We would like to introduce you to Maya. She is a 3rd year midwifery student who starts with us this month. Transitions Midwifery is committed to providing clinical placements to Midwifery Students from UBC. Our experience has been that the enthusiasm of these students improves quality and your care as well as providing for the future supply of midwives.

We have a couple openings for new midwifery clients with estimated due dates in January 2026 for full scope care (prenatal, labor & delivery and postpartum care). This does not happen very often - so run don’t walk! Please email [email protected] to receive our client information package and intake form. Please note all other months are currently waitlisted and we are currently scheduling April 2026 intakes.

Please note, Dianna our office manager will be on holidays beginning on July 19th and returning Monday, July 28th. All emails will be replied to in the order they are received upon her return. If you are emailing regarding a medical question please call the clinic and press #1 for urgent concerns and #3 for non urgent medical questions. The midwife will be monitoring voicemails in Dianna’s absence. Please have patience as the midwifes are also doing clinic/call shifts and will not be able to return non urgent calls as promptly as Dianna usually does. As always, emailing is not intended for medical concerns and is reserved for administrative purposes only.
