At {PAGE NAME}, we believe that knowledge is power.
Each month, we highlight a STRIVE story from across our communities. This month’s story comes from our sister location, Emerald Gardens.
"Regular Resident Interactive Sessions, led by educators and community partners such as the RCMP, Fire Department, and Senior Fraud Prevention, keep residents informed and engaged in important conversations about safety and well-being. Coffee with the Team also gives residents weekly opportunities to connect with staff in a relaxed setting."
Rooted in Park Place’s values, these moments help residents feel supported, informed, and connected.

Knowing the signs of a stroke can make a life-changing difference. Think BE FAST:
Balance
Eyes
Face drooping
Arm weakness
Speech difficulty
Time to call emergency services
Regular checkups and staying on top of your health also play an important role in prevention.
At Park Place, we strive to create environments where residents feel safe, heard, and supported. These aren’t just ideals. Each value shapes how we show up for the residents and families in our community every day.

Each month, we highlight a STRIVE story from across our communities, which are examples of how our values show up in everyday moments.
This month’s STRIVE story is from Greystone Manor in Maple Ridge, BC:
The staff room at Greystone was transformed from an unwelcoming space into a comfortable and inviting area through budget-friendly renovations, including new furniture, artwork, and personalized touches. This upgrade provides staff with a safe and pleasant place to take breaks, boosting morale and satisfaction. In addition, active participation in resident committees and the introduction of guest speakers have helped residents feel heard, supported, and engaged in their community. Both staff and residents appreciate the improvements, which have fostered a sense of belonging, open communication, and a more positive environment for everyone.
When residents feel heard, confidence grows. When teams feel supported, they show up more consistently. Consistency in care builds trust, and trust is the foundation of every strong community.
During National Volunteer Week, at Greystone Manor Retirement Residence, we want to thank the incredible volunteers who help make our community feel even more special.
Whether it’s sharing a conversation, helping with activities, or simply bringing a smile to one of our residents' faces. Volunteers play such an essential part in enriching the lives of our residents and helping our seniors community thrive.
To each and every person who has volunteered with us, your kindness, generosity, and time truly make such a big difference and are so appreciated. Thank you for all that you do!

Each month, we highlight a STRIVE story from across our community. These stories reflect what we stand for as an organization and showcase how we strive for excellence in everything we do, through meaningful connection, clear communication, and exceptional senior care.
Across our Park Place locations, Residents love being involved in their communities. We believe each of our residents should feel seen, known, and included, so we offer activities and events that appeal to a variety of interests.
This month’s STRIVE story is from The Residence at Orchards Walk in Kamloops:
This vibrant community fosters connection and joy through a variety of engaging activities. Residents delight in visits from local daycare children, especially during special occasions like Easter and Halloween, which bring excitement and happiness to all. Gardening is a shared effort, with staff and Residents working together to maintain beautiful flower boxes on the patio, instilling pride and a sense of accomplishment. New Residents are welcomed each summer with monthly Meet & Mingle events, featuring coffee and homemade cookies, helping everyone feel included and part of the community. Additionally, the weekly Ice Cream Socials offer a simple yet joyful way for Residents and staff to bond and enjoy warm afternoons together. These traditions strengthen relationships, encourage teamwork, and create a welcoming, supportive environment for all.
Why does being Canadian and family-owned matter in senior care?
For us, care is personal. Founded in 1993 by Al and Jenny Jina, Park Place Seniors Living has remained proudly Canadian-owned and family-led for over 30 years.
Being both Canadian and family owned means leadership is closely connected to every residence, and we make every decision based on our residents’ needs.
We make sure our care teams are supported and equipped to provide the best care possible. In turn, they are able to take the time to get to know each resident on a personal level, so everyone in our community feels seen and valued.
And because we stay connected at every level, each community reflects a deep understanding of the people it serves. No two are exactly alike, and that’s intentional.
