We’re so proud of our Executive Director, Debbie Logel Butler, who returned to her alma mater, Mohawk College — where she is an Alumnus of Distinction — to speak at Convocation.

Debbie inspired new graduates with words of encouragement and wisdom, highlighting the opportunities they have ahead of them. We're so fortunate at the Cancer Assistance Program to learn from Debbie's leadership, passion, and example every single day.

It was a great weekend of Hamilton Cardinals Professional Baseball Club baseball! Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello or purchase a 50/50 ticket.

Congratulations to Friday night winner 6-166 who took home $482.50 and Sunday night winner C-8480 who took home $650.

We even got to present a previous winner with their winnings!

Thank you to Regina Mundi Council 12745 – Knights of Columbus for their generous donation of $500 in gas gift cards!

These gift cards help support our volunteer drivers as they travel throughout the community, ensuring clients can get to their medical appointments safely and reliably.

Thank you to St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School for their ongoing support of CAP! Their annual Purse Bingo raised $10,000, and their participation in our CARE Walk, Run & Roll raised an additional $3,282.97.

We are so grateful for their generosity and community spirit.

Friday night’s Hamilton Cardinals game against the Brantford Red Sox was a fun one—featuring handmade sock puppets and great community spirit!

Winning 50/50 ticket holder D-4115 took home $422.50.

June is Seniors Month in Ontario, a time to honour and celebrate the contributions seniors have made to help make this province the great place it is today. This year’s Seniors Month theme Ontario Seniors – Let’s Get Moving, highlights the importance of helping seniors stay active and engaged in their communities.

CAP team Kelsey and Helena were at the City of Hamilton Seniors Information & Wellness Fair, connecting with seniors and more than 70 exhibitors.

Dennis is living with stage-four cancer. While there might be some predictability in his treatment schedule, there’s absolutely none in how he feels afterwards. Some days, he’s strong. Other days, he can barely get out of bed.

Dennis would rise from bed tired and rush to catch buses for medical appointments, sometimes in snow or rain, already exhausted from treatment. The rushing drained Dennis’s energy even faster than the cancer itself. His wife Trish was constantly worried, yet couldn’t see any other option.

That's when they discovered CAP's volunteer drive program. Now a driver comes right to their door, takes Dennis safely to treatment, and brings him home again.

"For the first time in a long time, I can go to work knowing he is safe. That peace of mind is something I can hardly put into words," says Trish.
