You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy horsepower, and that’s kinda the same thing!

There’s been some progress over the years… I’ve really enjoyed the learning curve associated with racing - the car prep, the driving, and (less so) the occasional repair work.

After more than a decade as Underbite Racing, we’re retiring the name. Starting January 1, we’ll compete as Sisu Performance Labs Racing Team.

By partnering with Sisu Performance Labs, a new endurance coaching venture, we’re embracing the Finnish concept of “sisu” - unyielding grit and determination in the face of adversity - while reinforcing the link between physical preparation and motorsport performance.

Watch for a fresh livery on car #199, and follow both Sisu Performance Labs and Sisu Performance Labs Racing Team for updates.

I’d put off installing the Aim camera for a long time thinking it would take forever to integrate with the RaceCapture data. But the initial setup went pretty well.

Onto the next phase - capturing heart rate data on this little microprocessor board and transmitting it through the RaceCapture unit to the camera. This could be extended to automatic driver identification in endurance racing based on unique heart rate monitor IDs. More to come!

I organized the video overlay and confirmed that throttle position and brake switch data is flowing through to the camera. I also had a chance to test the pit to car communication… now I just need a pit crew… 😜

Finally a productive day in the garage working on Mimi’s Little Sister! I picked up parts during my latest trip to Houston. I got the new Aim camera installed, repaired and tidied wiring around the disconnect switch and fuse block, then started planning wiring for keyless start. Lots more to do!

For the first time since 2017, I will not be spending the weekend at for the . I’m going to miss the people, the experience, and the Jaffa Cakes (and, less so, the horizontal rain).

Best wishes to everyone participating and supporting. I’ll be following the live feed…

Cheers,
Bryan
