⛳️ How to cut super low ⛳️ 2 min board talks are back

So you want to put in a natural grass putting green and want to cut super low, well besides just levelling and throwing sand down , there is one more aspect you'll need to consider

✅️ Bedknifes or bottom blades

This is really on necessary if you're planning on going right down to 5mm and below , not if you're sitting around 8mm +

There is much more to it but here is a really simple explanation on Shaver blades vs Lipped blades

⚠️ This is what I have to do for the putting green on the backyard 1 Hole golf course to be able to get down to 3mm or 3.5mm as it is 10 month old kikuyu 🙃 first ill be chomping it down with blunt reel and Lipped bottom blade until im happy, its growing in then take the mower into Al for a Shaver blade and grind 👌

Plugging to fill in bare spots ⛳️

Here's a little trick of the trade to fill in any big bare patches that you may have in your lawn, it isn't advised to used bought rolls of turf unless they are the exact same as your current lawn, as this will end up creating dark or light patches in your lawn if they aren't the same.
These two lawns are from the same seed so match perfectly 👌

I'm using a plugger that I used to make years back , there was a foot pedal version which was much easier and left much cleaner plugs, however this still gets the job done ✔️

The bare patch being repaired is due to the big tree behind it blocking a sprinkler so grow in was poor, I will just need to hand water to establish.

A little green rolling to get it flatter after a 5mm top dress yesterday and last night's rain so its nice and soft atm.

The goal is to get the green as flat as possible and keep using the MEY which is almost bottoming out and chomping dirt, this means I will need a new bedknife (shaver blade) to go even lower, but there's no point putting that in until I can keep mowing at 5mmish without chomping or scalping

Then I can install a new bedknife and get a fresh grind 💪 I will most likely keep it at 5mm for the season perhaps go down to 4mm and see how we go, this will require PGR and daily mowing though.

Technically there will be:
