Historic School in Agnes, Springtown Texas is being restored for a community center for historical, educational classes, events, and musical gatherings.
This stone schoolhouse was built in 1927, after the previous wooden 2 story schoolhouse burned down. This three room schoolhouse housed elementary, middle, and high school under one roof until the school was consolidated with Springtown ISD in 1946. $5 cash open to all, and no limit on the bags
This month: apples, bananas, carrots, sweet potato, baking potatoes, and green bell peppers.
Tables will be set up to sell baked goods, crafts, etc. No table fee but donations are welcome to the maintenance of the historic schoolhouse.

Local craftsman Amanda Baker is coordinating monthly meetups at the Old Agnes School. She is motivated and dedicated to teaching her skills to anyone interested. If you’d sit down to talk with her, this is why she does it-“I am someone interested in learning and developing my hide tanning skills and am looking to bring what I have learned to a space with others who are also interested in this skill that we may share our knowledge of this fading craft.”
She has connected with a supplier for leather hides and is looking for fellow enthusiasts who love doing this, too. Please come out or reach out to her. We will keep offering this only if people come or reach out to us.

Tables will be set up for vendors, selling bread, and garden produce. No table fees, but donations are accepted towards the renovation and maintenance of the old schoolhouse.
