Earlier this week, we partnered with Robertson County (TN) Chamber of Commerce and Robertson County Schools to host our community's 8th Grade Career Exploration Fair. Over two days, 800 eighth graders connected with local professionals at Volunteer State Community College- Springfield campus and learned about careers in their areas of tested aptitude and expressed interest.

This event, along with the annual High School Job Shadowing, Senior Job Fair and Career & Technical Educator Professional Development Day, as well as monthly Workforce & Education Council meetings, are strategic investments made by cross-sector leadership to strengthen our community's workforce.

Last Friday, we joined local industry partners Electrolux Group-Springfield, Advanex Americas, Inc.-White House and North American Stamping Group-Portland at a regional Manufacturing Summit to explore bringing Federation for Advanced Manufacturing Education (FAME) chapters to Middle Tennessee.
