Our first Hamlin PTSO meeting of the school year is TOMORROW, Tuesday, September 15, at 6:00 p.m.!
Come hear what’s happening at Hamlin and find out how you can get involved.

We’ll be talking about:
💚 The upcoming Hamlin Howl Social
💚 Logger gear and school merchandise
💚 Volunteer opportunities
💚 Forming an 8th Grade Celebration Parent Committee

You’ll also have the opportunity to talk with Principal Brandi Starck, meet Vice Principal Jerami Wood, ask questions, and connect with other Hamlin families.
Childcare will be provided, so bring the kids and come join us!

School Supplies giveaway today 12-2 at Kiefer Mazda.

The new school year is right around the corner and we’re here to help!

Come out to the 2nd Annual Backpack & School Supply Giveaway Sponsored by The Hope Project on Saturday Aug. 22nd from NOON-2pm at Kiefer Mazda.

We’re giving out 104 free backpacks filled with supplies.

K–12 students enrolled in Springfield Public Schools are invited to Project Hope—a one-day event where they can pick up new shoes, socks, backpacks, and school supplies to get ready for the school year!

Only students enrolled in Springfield K–12 schools are eligible. Unfortunately, supplies and shoe sizes are not available for pre-K students.

• Ticket reservations begin Monday, August 24 at 7 a.m.
• Reserve tickets at: https://tinyurl.com/PH-SPFD-26
• Multiple appointment times are available, so you can choose what works best for your schedule.
• Every student must have a ticket and be present at the event to receive supplies.

• Giveaway will be held Saturday, August 29 from 1-5 p.m.
• Maple Elementary School, 2019 J Street
• Please arrive at your scheduled appointment time—not earlier.

Community school supply give away available for elementary students. Maybe there are some future Loggers in your home that need some items.

If you're in need of elementary school supplies for the coming school year, Chick-fil-A Gateway and Randy Pape Beltline would love to help! On Monday, August 17 from 1 - 6 pm, stop inside the restaurant to browse the basic elementary school supplies available to community members, while supplies last. This is a FREE event to help those who need it, right here in Springfield!

You can also donate new school supplies by bringing them to the restaurant between now and Aug 31! View the flyer in the comments section for the most needed items.

We cannot wait to help you prepare for the year of learning ahead! The Community School Supply Pick-Up Day is open to all in the community. SEF will help distribute any remaining supplies through Springfield Public Schools’ Care & Connection team to students and families preparing for the new school year.

Bus registration is open for 2026-2027

Bus registration for 2026-27 is now open! 🚌

Eligible students who will be riding the bus need to register each year.
Who is an eligible bus rider? Elementary students who live more than one mile from their school and middle and high school students who live more than one and a half miles from their school.

Students must be enrolled for the 2026-27 school year before registering for bus transportation. Visit our enrollment page: https://www.springfield.k12.or.us/enroll

Don't delay - registering well in advance of the school year helps us cut down on the number of necessary adjustments to routes and stop times after the school year begins.

After you register, watch your email for an invitation from Transportation Services to register with the free Stopfinder app. Using Stopfinder, estimated time of arrival, schedule change notifications and more are right at your fingertips. In our state and local area, there are several resources available for feeding kids over the summer:

• Food For Lane County invites ages 18 and younger to enjoy free lunches at parks and community centers June 22 - August 21.

• Oregon Summer EBT is back for kids who qualify. It helps families buy food for their school-aged children when school is out. Each summer, families will get one payment of $120 for each eligible child to buy groceries. Most kids get it automatically, but some families need to apply.

• Summer Food Oregon can help families find free community summer meal programs that are open to all kids without paperwork or income verification. Call 211 or visit summerfoodoregon.org to find a site near you.
