Yesterday I think Poetry and I got a little closer again. Yesterday I think I healed a little bit. Yesterday I think I got to heal others.

This is what I missed about Poetry. The commissions, the deadlines, the rehearsals, the challenges to move your pen even when you can’t choose the ink color.

I had many requests last night to have the Poem printed. So we have something cooking. I want my community to be able to hear or read that poem whenever they see fit.

Y’all mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, grannies and pawpaws had me crying with gratitude. I appreciate you all.

Remembered who I was yesterday. 💅🏼

I’ve been practicing gratitude being present and a lot more intentional when I say “Yes” to things. Being a creative in St.Louis you want all the opportunities in the world and I use to say “Yes” to every show. Booked up 8 out of 12 months of the year but I’ve found the more accessible you are the less you’re appreciated to a degree.

May 16th 2025 was a-lot for us all. So when contacted me. I had to sit on the email for a minute because I discovered I myself is still processing it all to this day I still don’t think I have all my words together.

But when it comes to my community and it comes St.Louis I have a love and stronghold I can never pull away from.

So join me and this beautiful group of people to honor and reflect May 16th 2025.

Inside / Outside

I been doing things with my hands & supporting my folks.

This is a very special day for me. It’s not only a day I got to be a student but I also watched two people I love very deeply transcend a experience and the pain from said experience into pure expression in the form of art.

I watched them heal & shed all that didn’t belong to either one of them. I watch them write a story while I got to hold the light to the paper as they swapped pens.

I got to see how much these two truly trust me as a person & creative and I don’t take it very lightly at all. I got to learn from my lover & friends while also LEARNING from my lover and friends. Does that make sense?
