E-Bikes vs. E-Motos: Know the Difference! 🚴‍♂️💨

Did you know not all electric-powered bikes are legally e-bikes? 🤔 E-motos can look like e-bikes but can't be ridden on public streets or paths. 🚫

Here's the difference:
• E-Bikes: 3 classes, fully functional pedals, up to 28 mph.
• E-Motos: Electric motorcycles, can go over 20 mph with a throttle, not allowed on public streets.

Where can you ride?
• E-Bikes: City streets, bike lanes, not on sidewalks. Note: Willamalane only allows Class 1 & 2 e-bikes on multi-use paths and trails, NO Class 3. Designated mountain bike trails allow Class 1 ONLY.
• E-Motos: Only on private property.

Davidson was reported missing on 9/8/26 at 2155 hours & has dementia.

Davidson is listed at 5’ 9” and 170 pounds. He is wearing a green sweatshirt and clothing pictured. He also uses a black walker.

Davidson is on foot and was last known to be in the area of the 600 block of Cloverleaf Loop.

Our SROs are officially back in the halls—keeping an eye on things, making connections, and apparently reporting for their annual “first day of school picture.” 😂

We also got an extra-special surprise today: the Thurston High Colts - Springfield, OR showing SRO Amundson some love with a 🎶 HAPPY BIRTHDAY! 🎂

Nothing says “welcome back to school” quite like teenagers voluntarily singing in front of a police officer. 😂👏
