Super Saturdays and Sundays are opportunities for families and community members to connect with Springfield Public Schools, ask questions, share ideas and learn more about important topics affecting our students and schools.

Your voice matters!

Families, we want to make sure everyone knows what to expect during Asynchronous Time on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays from 2:10–2:50 PM.

This time is an important opportunity for students to stay on track, catch up, complete assignments, and make progress toward their goals! ⭐

Dear SVS Families,

We are so happy to welcome our students back to school on Monday!

As you may have heard, Springfield Public Schools recently experienced a cyber incident that disrupted some district technology systems. As a precaution, schools were closed for one week while district staff worked carefully to address the situation and prepare for a safe return to school.

We understand that families may have questions about what happened and what to expect as we return. To help, Springfield Public Schools has created a list of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) with helpful information for families. These FAQs are available on the SVS page, SVS ClassDojo, the SPS district website, and the SPS page. They will continue to be updated as additional information becomes available.

Some Good News for SVS

Because SVS is a virtual school, we are in a unique and fortunate position. Our student devices were not connected to the SPS network during the incident. We have also safely tested the reactivation process with two SVS student devices, and both were successfully reactivated.

Our team has been working diligently to prepare for Monday, and we are confident and excited to welcome our students back!

What Families Can Expect on Monday

Our priority is to make the return to school as smooth and stress-free as possible for students and families. We know that an unexpected week away from school can create some uncertainty, so our teachers and staff will be patient, flexible, and available to help students get reconnected and settled back into their routines.

Please look for an SVS flyer with step-by-step information about how students will safely return to school on Monday, including log-in directions and new password information. We will share this important information through both the SVS page and ClassDojo.

Please know that you are not alone in navigating this process. If your child experiences any difficulty logging in or accessing school, our SVS team is ready to help. Please reach out to Ms. DeMars, Mr. Bass, Ms. Godek, Mr. Bean, or me.

🍎 Grab-and-Go Meals Available for SPS Students! 🍎
Springfield Public Schools will provide Grab-and-Go meal packages for students on:

📅 Thursday, September 10 & Friday, September 11
⏰ 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Each meal package will include:
🍽️ Lunch that can be reheated at home
🥣 Shelf-stable breakfast that can be stored overnight and enjoyed the following morning
