Flat Creek Rods

The final rod of the year is another Rainshadow but this one is the Infinity RX10 in 9' 5 weight. This rod features a beautiful piece of shop turned stabilized tiger maple in Lemke LC7 NOS hardware, a REC Cerecoil stripping guide, TiCH guides, wraps using Gudebrod nylon thread, and a custom rod sock! This one is shipping out just in time to be under the tree!

After a busy month I finally finished up the last 2 rods of the year. First up is a beautiful Rainshadow Infinity 2 9' 4 weight. This rod features a unique piece of shop turned New Mexican alligator juniper in Lemke LC7 NOS hardware, chrome guides, Fuji nylon thread wraps, and a custom rod sock. This one is staying in New Mexico!

Off the bench this week is a Sage R8 Core 9' 5 weight built for the salt! My customer fishes the Texas coast for reds and this rod will be fun for those days when he's throwing small flies in light wind. The rod features a champagne reel seat, fighting butt, and a 6.5" full wells grip. The guides are Snake Brand ECO and the stripping guide is a titanium ringlock nanolite. Custom rod sock by . I can't wait to see how this rod performs!

Mike McFarland has consistently rolled and designed some of the best glass blanks on the market and has even designed some custom tapers for Flat Creek Rods. When my customer wanted to fish bigger flies on bigger water with glass my first thought was Mike's GTX series. The combo of E and S glass along with a fast but smooth taper maintains the soul of glass with a modern touch. Once we settled on the 8'6" 5wt we picked out a beautiful Struble Manufacturing agate to go with the Snake Brand guides. The shop turned olive wood fits nicely in the Garrison style downlocking hardware. The grip is a reverse half-wells/Ritz(with a well!) Olive and brown silk wraps finish out this build. I'm sure this rod will have many adventures in the waters of Utah and beyond!
