Our Gold Star Families and volunteers are currently at Echo Lake for a spirit hike. They will be sharing the stories of fallen Maine heroes who were not carried to the summit of Cadillac today. 🇺🇸

We are ready for tomorrow’s big event! THANK YOU to our basecamp volunteers for all of your hard work today! We will see you all in the morning—hikers arrive at 0615 to check in and our Hiker Brief begins at 0700!

TSP at ANP Hiker Hero Countdown continues! Up next: Bill Hoffman from Team White!

I am Bill Hoffman from Hampden, Maine. I am 68 years old and enjoy gardening, spending time with my wife and dogs and hiking, especially at Acadia. Before I injured my knee downhill skiing, I climbed Katahdin a few times, hiked Precipice a few times, Dorr, Sargent, Beech Hill, Cadillac multiple times and multiple easy trails. I hiked Parkman twice this summer and this will be my second hike up Cadillac with Summit Project (South Ridge was the first). Hiking with TSP is important to me because I want to honor Gold Star families as well as the victims of 9/11, especially close to the 25th anniversary of this cowardly attack on innocent and unarmed citizens and children.

My first Summit project event was one of the 9/11 memorial 5K's in Bangor where TSP had a tent set up close to the starting line. I inquired about TSP and ran the 5K carrying a memorial stone in my hand. It felt wonderful to be carrying a memorial stone! I stopped jogging and vigorous hiking after my knee injury.

My name is Kayla Foss, I am originally from Greene, Maine but now live in Wales, Maine. For fun I like to spend time with family, I enjoy any outdoor adventure, biking, hiking, co****le etc and card games/ board games, also I enjoy crocheting blankets for family and dishcloths. This is my first time hiking with the summit project. Hiking with TSP is important to me because my brother Austin J. Martel is my beloved fallen hero.

My names Andrew Foss. I’m from Wales, Maine. For fun I like to hunt, camp, four wheeling, and working on our farm. This is my first time hiking with The Summit Project, but I’ve hiked Mount Katahdin. Hiking with TSP is important to me because it’s very important to my wife, as her brother is a fallen soldier.
