Surfrider Foundation Portland Chapter

Surfing is fun - especially when the conditions are right for you. At our May chapter social, you will learn how to read surf forecasts. You will also find out more about the Oregon Beaches Forever campaign, and discover how you can advocate for Oregon's oceans, waves, and beaches.

All are welcome - whether you're new to surfing, an experienced surfer eager to share insights, or simply passionate about protecting our ocean, waves, and beaches.

We had an epic weekend hosting a Green Streets Clean Up on SW Waterfront on May 2nd!

A special shout out to Blue Star Donuts for the hospitality.

We had 23 volunteers collect:
🗑️ 49 pounds of trash
🚭 An estimated 7,316 cigarette butts

On this , we thought it was the perfect timing to let you know about our next Green Streets clean up 🚮

We hope you can join us on Saturday May 2nd at near SW Waterfront to clean up the surrounding neighborhoods and parks.

Our Earth Month Oswald West Action Day was a great success yesterday 💙

Props to the ~30 volunteers who picked up 124 pounds of trash 🗑️. Thank you all for caring for our big blue planet!

🐋 Angela from North Coast Land Conservancy will now be leading a hike from Elk Flats to Devils Cauldron at 8:30am before the Action Day hoping to spot migrating whales!

Join for a presentation by City of Portland Environmental Services about the Green Streets program. City of Portland will offer grabbers, buckets, vests, and gloves for new adopters if they sign up.

The information in the presentation will include:
🔸 General information about Portland sewer and stormwater (some vocabulary we use)
🔹 Big pipe project
🔸 Green stormwater infrastructure
🔹 Green Street Stewards program
