Normal Women Rising

Today we're going "off-script" with Buck Farley. Please check out his page here: Buck Farley, Mclean County Board Candidate District 5. Also note that his campaign has a fundraiser on September 16th. (Info on his page.)

Last night, we had the incredible honor of attending the Planned Parenthood Illinois Action Fighting Forward fundraiser at the Obama Presidential Center. Wow. What an event. What an experience. The Center was incredible and so thoughtfully done. Every exhibit had braille or a tactile inclusion. There were sign language interpreters for every video. The amount of information and imagery was overwhelming in the best way. The deep, powerful emotions we felt walking through are hard to put into words.

After walking through the Center, we heard from speakers during the PPIA event. Juliana Stratton was amazing, as always. Treasurer Mike Frerichs shared his powerful story about his wife's right to choose. Well done to the entire PPIA leadership team. A special thank you to the wonderful Carolyn Moon for including us. We felt so empowered and hopeful to be in that room.

We are proud to endorse Joshua Crockett for McLean County Clerk. It's an honor to continue to support his campaign.

Our next feature in our "off-script" series is McLean County Board District 10 candidate Corey Beirne. Check out his page here: Corey TJ Beirne, McLean County Board District 10

A big thank you to Paul Nolley (Paul Nolley for Congress) for coming to our get-together this week. The whole purpose of our group has been to empower everyday women to do what they can to strengthen our community and safeguard our rights. Paul is a down-to-earth guy who aligns well with us and our mission. We were so grateful to him for taking the time to discuss his goals and answer our questions. We are proud to support him and his campaign. Also, check out our snack donation to the Boys & Girls Club. Thank you to our members who donated! (We are continuing to collect through the week, so let us know if you have snacks to donate.)

‼️Our next gathering is this Tuesday, August 25th at 6pm. Message us for Kathleen's address. We are super excited to welcome Paul Nolley to our group and chat with him.
🧃We will be collecting snacks for the Boys & Girls Club kids (think: Goldfish, Pirate's B***y, fruit snacks, anything a kid would enjoy). Kimberly has a Rubbermaid bin on her front stoop if you'd like to drop off snacks anytime this week. Message us for her address if you need it!
🪑 It looks like the weather will finally cooperate for an outdoor get together. We will have some chairs but feel free to bring a chair if you can.
🌞 We can't wait to see you all!

Hello friends! After some technical difficulties earlier this week, we believe our email successfully went out this afternoon. If you haven't signed up and want to, drop us a message.

On August 18th in 1920, the 19th Amendment was ratified and granted women the right to vote. We thank the women who fought tirelessly for us. Now is a great time to check your voter registration and make a plan to vote on or before November 3rd.
