We’re halfway through September, and so far our Passport to Adventure fundraiser has raised $3,645 through raffle ticket sales and donations.

That means we can already purchase 182 brand-new books for the Meridian Library District! 🎉

Our goal is 500 new books, and we need your help to get there. Every $20 raffle ticket = one new library book, and 100% of raffle ticket sales and donations will fund new books.

MedlinePlus is an online health information resource from the National Library of Medicine that connects you to reliable, easy-to-understand information about health conditions, symptoms, medications, medical tests, treatments, and more.

No, it can’t fix a broken arm after your latest adventure. But it CAN help you find trustworthy health information when you have questions, without relying on whatever answer happens to pop up first online.

WHERE DID YOU TAKE YOUR LIBRARY?

“I took my library to Norway! 🇳🇴

I got to go on a family cruise to Norway, and before we left, I made sure to check out a book from the library to bring with me.

While we were driving from waterfall to waterfall, I got to sneak in some reading time in the van. And on the cruise ship, my grandpa and I even found a special spot where we could sit together and read.

It was pretty amazing getting to explore somewhere new with a library book along for the adventure. Turns out your library can come with you pretty far from home!” - Avia, MLD youth patron

🐎 Some adventures make you want to learn more.

Watching ranchers bring horses in from the fields near the Tetons is one of those moments.

WHERE DID YOU TAKE YOUR LIBRARY?

“I took mine to the Sawtooths! 🏔️

For whatever reason, we decided to hike the entire Toxaway Loop in one day. I had several books queued up on Libby, and with more than 20 miles through the Sawtooth wilderness, I had plenty of time with my Powerbeats in and Libby going.

By the time we made it back to the trailhead, exhausted and in the dark, I had listened to two entire audiobooks (and a few loud songs to get me through some of the steeper terrain!).

I always have an audiobook (or five) downloaded on my phone when I’m headed somewhere, whether it’s a long hike, a road trip, or just running around town. It’s one of my favorite things about having a library card. My library can pretty much come with me anywhere!”
