Why adopt from Fetch? First and foremost, Fetch takes its time getting to know the dogs in our care. Fourth, we have a strong support network post-adoption.
Fetch Wisconsin is an entirely volunteer-run rescue dedicated to the rehoming and rehabilitation of at-risk dogs. 🐾
All of our dogs are located in foster homes that are in, or within 2 hours of, Madison, WI (no shelter). We strive to understand the best possible environment for them to succeed in. Behavior and medical issues are addressed and worked on while in foster care. Foster homes have a limit of two dogs to ensure environments are low-stress and individualized attention is given to each dog. Second, we provide thorough vetting to ensure that we are adopting out healthy dogs. Sometimes other rescues will do basic vaccinations and stop there. We'll do dental work, surgeries, blood work, and more so that we send home a pup just needing basic maintenance over time. Third, we're completely transparent about the type of dog you are going to get. These pups are not perfect, but we'll let you know what their issues are and how to work on those. For some of our more challenging dogs, we've sent behaviorists to an adopter's door at our own cost. For less severe cases, our resident trainer will give adopters a call and help them work out a training plan to get things back on track. Lastly, we try to solve the local problem before expanding our efforts to out of state dogs. If there are breeds we can rescue locally, we start there. If there aren't, we'll expand to our neighboring states to help with their shelter overcrowding. Adopting through Fetch actually makes a difference in the local community and Wisconsin.

For our Milwaukee friends— this super fun event supports a great non-profit!!
💔 MILWAUKEE: WE NEED OUR COMMUNITY TO RALLY FOR US.
We’re going to be completely vulnerable with you: last year, our hearts broke.
We put our souls into planning our annual event, and when only 10 people walked through the door, we raised $0.
Sitting in that empty room after working endlessly all year for the animals was devastating.
We knew we couldn't give up. So this year, we went back to the drawing board and switched EVERYTHING up to make this night unforgettable!
But looking at our RSVP list right now, our hearts are sinking again: we only have 17 people confirmed for our Pretty in Pink & Paws 80s Prom—and half of them are our own dedicated volunteers.
Here is the honest truth: this is our ONE big fundraiser of the year. The funds raised at this event directly power our work—supporting the animals in our care, hundreds of chained dogs, and local families who rely on us.
We want to keep fighting for these animals, but we simply cannot do this alone. We need you in the room with us.
We don't want another empty room—we want a floor packed with good people, amazing dogs, and incredible community support!

Tuesday was the first official day of fall, and Stacy is so here for cozy season!! 🎃 🍂
Stacy is a 1 year old, 50 pound mixed breed. She needs some time to warm up to new people, but she loves other dogs!! So much in fact that she needs to live with another confident dog.
Once Stacy has deemed you worthy of her, she is affectionate and silly! She can free roam and walks nicely on leash.

We are so excited that Diamond is the featured Pet of the Week— no one deserves it more than her! 💎💎
