🦋Last week's Adventure Camp really captured what it means to be part of such a collaborative community.
Coach planned a week of action-packed activities, Karen and Caroline worked with a handful of parent volunteers to make it happen, the Sink family welcomed our crew to their home for activities and food, and students traveled all over High Point and Greensboro.
We are continuously grateful for our school community, and what that community can do to enrich the lives of our students.
We look forward to seeing what week 3 of summer camp brings!

We had so much fun at week 1 of summer camp--Arts Around the World.
This week, our younger friends are exploring Dinosaurs, while our older campers are adventuring around High Point and beyond. We can't wait to see what the week brings.
If you're looking for engaging and fun opportunities for your child, consider signing up! Summer camp enrollment is still open. Week 3 enrollment will close Wednesday, 6/10.

🎓 What a week we had last week! We celebrated the hard work of all of our students and their promotion to the next level. Thank you to our families for joining us in these events! And thank you to HPFS staff for another inspiring year.
We also celebrated the love and Light that Ms. Ann left us and will be reminded of this warmth everyday when we arrive at school, greeted by the hydrangeas our community planted at the peace pole.
We are looking forward to summer camp starting next week! We hope everyone has an excellent summer 😎

🤸♂️ Another field day in the books!
Earlier this week, we celebrated the end of the school year with a field day led by Coach Watson, and parents Scott and Zar. The heat didn't slow down these Falcons from enjoying intergenerational fun! 🔥

🍓Our kindergarten class will be celebrating their promotion to 1st grade tomorrow! It’s been a perfect week to fit in two more field trips: a walk to followed by a treat at Krispy Kreme, and then a trip to to pick fresh strawberries.
We look forward to celebrating the hard work these students have done this school year. Thanks to Ms. Stephanie and all of our wonderful families! 🍩

🏃♀️We were so grateful to start our week celebrating these runners who participated in the race on Saturday. Many exceeded their own expectations thanks to Ms. Jenn’s dedication to creating a supportive environment.
It’s been a challenging few days at High Point Friends School, but our community is capable of great things when we pull together.
We look forward to a week full of continued celebrations. 🪻

☀️Our last staff member in this year's student-led interview series is Ms. Karen, our exceptional assistant in the two year old classroom. We weren't able to interview everyone this year, but look forward to continuing next school year!
Karen's own children attended High Point Friends School, and she felt called to leave the corporate world and pursue a role in preschool teaching. She enjoys teaching students foundational skills that they will go on to use for the rest of their lives.
Outside of school, she is quite adventurous. She enjoys camping off grid, exploring the outdoors, thrifting, and cooking.
Her favorite Quaker testimony is community. She values working together on a common goal--an asset to working in collaboration with the other preschool faculty and staff.
Only 5 more days left in the school year... We hope to see you at our preschool promotion ceremony next Thursday! 🎓

🧗♂️That’s a wrap on rock wall Wednesdays for this school year!
Last week we had our last rock wall event of the year, wrapping up several weekly sessions in the fall and spring for students kindergarten through 8th grade. Students tested their limits and literally reached new heights! We love to see their excitement for this unique opportunity in our school gym! 🪨

🎨This week our 7th and 8th graders interviewed Ms. Dana, our wonderfully creative 3s teacher at HPFS. She decided to go into teaching because she wanted the kids to be treated respectfully and with kindness. Like many of our teachers, she expresses how much she appreciates the enthusiasm our youngest students have for learning.
Her favorite Quaker testimony is integrity, appreciating people that are authentic and real. We definitely see Ms. Dana's authenticity in her relationships with students.
You can find Ms. Dana on YouTube--Miss. Dana's Classroom--where she inspires new and veteran teachers with refreshing approaches to preschool learning. We are so glad she is here at HPFS! ☺️
