Get to planting this September to be ready for fall blooms and get a head start for next year with native plants!

These Texas natives are tough, thirsty for less water, and eager to reward you.

Those of us that live in rural areas Get you a “go bag” ready!

I know everyone is nervous about all the wild fires not only here in Texas but across the nation. As many of yall know coley and I have given seminars on how to be prepared for the possible call to evacuate. When you’re told to go, you go.
Please get you a “go bag”. In the bag you will include the following:
House papers/deeds/insurance/ etc
Birth certificates for all household members
Social security cards
Passports
Registration papers for animals
Photos of home/pets/livestock(even better is a flash drive with all that information)
Copies of prescriptions
Copies or originals of Any other important documents you don’t want to loose.
Keep this packed at all times. Know where it is.

Know your evac routes. Know your town and alternate ways to get out. So many people move in and never drive around. When you are told to leave and you main route is cut off by flame, this is not the time to try and learn other ways around! Learn before

Be prepared to turn livestock loose. Photos of animals and records in your go bag will help identify. If you can’t get them out cut fences. Teach animals to load in trailers BEFORE. Don’t wait until you’re scared and nervous to start trying to teach them to load. If you don’t have a trailer, make contact with those that do so you know who to call.

Don’t try to grab everything from your home. Grab the necessities. Possessions can be replaced, lives can not.

I have so much more I can post. But these steps will make it easier if you get the call to “go now”.

Remember, people, pets, livestock. Plan now. Not when the call comes.
