May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
Mental health is an essential part of overall well‑being— it's just as important as physical health. May is a reminder to continue fostering open conversations, showing compassion and empathy, and supporting one another and yourself to take care of mental health. Together, we can build stronger, healthier communities where mental health is prioritized and no one feels alone.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to reflect on a truly meaningful experience at the Alter Dementia Summit 2026, held at Impact Church in Atlanta.

Toisha Beavers and Desalyn Spencer, Patient Liaisons, represented Alcanza at this impactful event, made possible by the Global Alzheimer's Platform Foundation and Mia Chester, Co‑Founder of Alter Dementia. The summit brought together organizations from around the world, all united by a shared commitment to supporting individuals and families navigating memory loss.

Participating in this event was a powerful reminder of the important role Alcanza plays through clinical research and trials—helping advance care options and bring hope to families affected by dementia. The connections and conversations reinforced just how meaningful this work is.

Thank you to everyone involved and to our Alcanza colleagues for the work you do every day. It was a privilege to be part of such an inspiring event, and we look forward to continuing these important collaborations.

Clinical Research for All

When communities are represented, care improves for everyone. During National Minority Health Month, we reflect on our mission at Alcanza: advancing inclusive, compassionate, and impactful clinical research in partnership with the communities we serve.

The Accel Research (Alcanza Site Network) team attended the Atlanta Family Caregiver Expo on February 28th, connecting with caregivers and community members to share information about clinical trial opportunities.

The free, fully attended event offered caregivers and seniors access to community resources, health screenings, and onsite support services.

Caregivers provide more than support and compassion. In clinical research, they play a critical role by helping patients navigate throughout the research journey. On Caregiver Appreciation Day, we recognize and thank caregivers for the time, advocacy, and dedication they give—not only to their loved ones, but to advancing medical research and improving care for future patients.
