Today, we honor Gold Star Mothers and Families who carry the burden of military sacrifice.
The Gold Star represents the loss of a loved one in service. This tradition began in WWI when families replaced blue stars with gold ones on service flags.
The Army supports these families through Survivor Outreach Services, providing counseling, financial assistance, and continued connection to the military community.
