A child advocate is a community member who is trained to speak up for children who have experienced abuse or neglect and are involved in the child welfare system. All with a goal in mind: helping children find safe, permanent homes as quickly as possible.

💙 Sometimes, what a child needs most is someone who stays.
Three siblings experienced trauma with their family, spent time in and out of foster care, and struggled with behaviors that made finding stability difficult. With the determination of their Dallas CASA volunteer Mallory, the children landed in the safe and loving home they desperately needed.🏡

Sometimes advocacy happens in a courtroom. Other times, it looks like making one more phone call, sending one more email or finding another way to help.
When a grandmother opened her home to keep two young siblings together, their Dallas CASA volunteer Pam saw that she needed support. Pam stepped in, connected the family with needed resources and helped make it possible for the children to stay safely with their grandmother. 💙

Exit UP: Because you don't usually have it all figured out when you turn 18. 🆙
When a court case closes, a young person’s need for encouragement and guidance doesn’t necessarily end. That’s why Dallas CASA created Exit UP.
It's a program that helps support relationships between our volunteers and the teens they’ve advocated for, while providing resources and opportunities for young people as they find their way after foster care.💙
