Act
Act exists to make neighborhood safety a normal reality for everyone. Our vision is to make neighborhood safety a normal reality for everyone.
THE NEED: Across Dallas, families who live in high-crime areas feel unsafe, like prisoners in their own homes, because of crime and violence occurring at nearby properties in their neighborhoods. They sleep away from windows to avoid stray bullets and their children face drugs and violence on their walks to school. Community violence is an adverse childhood experience (ACE) that can cause long-ter

Pray for neighbors – many who may be experiencing isolation.
Ask God to build connection, friendship, and trust in your neighborhood.
Sometimes the greatest change begins with someone simply being seen. Ask God to open your eyes to those near you who need to be seen.

This week's Neighboring Challenge: LET'S CONNECT
Create a simple neighborhood contact list.
Start with just a few neighbors and exchange phone numbers for emergencies, pet sitting, package pickups, or helping during storms.
Community grows stronger when neighbors know and trust one another. It doesn't have to be as hard as we can make it out to be. It can all start with a simple knock on the door, a smile, and a simple introduction.
We had an ✨amazing✨ night at Safest Stockyards at helping make Fort Worth stronger and safer! To learn more about how you can be a part of the fun in making neighborhoods safety a normal reality for everyone, visit actforjustice.org or see the link in bio!

Act’s work moves through five stages:
• Listening
• Investigating
• Advocating
• Resolving
• Thriving
We start by showing up. Act conducts community visits with residents and government officials.
From there, we move into the investigation phase. Our team gathers facts and builds each case with care.
When the clients and pro bono attorneys are ready, we move forward with legal action.
Our legal action leads to holding the owner accountable and ending unsafe conditions.
The result is safety and justice for the community. Clients are protected, and neighborhoods become safer, healthier, and more vibrant places to live.
We believe lasting change happens when communities are empowered long after a case is resolved.
Justice is not only about removing harm — it’s about helping neighborhoods thrive. Learn more by visiting www.actforjustice.org

What if this summer was marked by more than counting down days to the next trip or time spent entertaining ourselves with screens, camps, or crafts? What if we chose to pray boldly for our neighbors this summer and watched, EXPECTANTLY, for what God will do in the lives of our neighbors?
Join us in praying for your neighborhood this week.
Pray for: • your neighbors to know Jesus • safety for children • wisdom for neighbors and their families • friendships among neighbors • hope for those carrying heavy burdens
May our neighborhoods become places where people can truly flourish, and may we be lights for neighbors who are living in darkness.

Each week, we will share a Neighborhood Challenge. Your first mission – should you choose to accept it: MAKE IT BETTER
Spend 15 minutes cleaning up trash on your street or in your neighborhood park. You can do this on your evening walk (weight-vest optional) or with your children.
Small acts of care communicate something powerful to neighbors: “This place matters. You matter.”
Invite a friend, bring gloves, and leave your block a little brighter than you found it.

At Act, transformation begins by listening.
Before legal action, before advocacy, before change — we start by showing up in neighborhoods and listening to residents. We believe communities already carry wisdom, resilience, and leadership. Our role is to walk alongside neighbors as they pursue safety, peace, and flourishing.
Real change starts with relationships.

Join us in praying for Oak Cliff as this neighborhood experienced a five-alarm fire at a large apartment complex. With many injuries and an unknown number of fatalities, this community is hurting. Pray for those who have lost everything, lost friends and loved ones, and who are fighting for recovery from this devastating fire. Please pray for the community to rally around this neighborhood and be the hands and feet of Jesus to all in need.

We appreciate the ultimate sacrifice made so that we can experience and enjoy the freedoms we have today. We hope your Memorial Day was one spent cherishing loved ones and remembering those who have given everything so we can live freely.

Act is deeply grateful to receive a $30,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation! Their continued partnership will support a new civil justice initiative to hold the owners of crime-enabling commercial properties accountable and restore safety for vulnerable neighborhoods. This project is novel because it extends a proven civil justice model—traditionally applied to residential properties—into the commercial property context.
Since its inception in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $30 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, the Texas Bar Foundation is the nation's largest charitably-funded bar foundation.
Thank you, , for investing in a safer and more just future!
