Spring has arrived in Mandarin class 🌸🐦🌿

Some of our Mandarin students recently explored spring-themed vocabulary, learning words and sentences about birds, flowers, and grass!

Through hands-on learning, students created beautiful Chinese-style bird and flower paper cuttings, bringing both language and culture to life in the classroom.

Over the past few weeks, our Arts Department has truly taken center stage 🎭🎶🎤🎨

From Kindergarten singers stepping into the spotlight to the lively middle school drama elective performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, each grade level brought something unique to celebrate.

Audiences also enjoyed a variety of instrumental performances featuring strings, recorders, ukuleles, a high-energy pop medley and a special moment when our Grade 5 Physical Geography teacher joined on drums! 🎶🥁

A special thank you to our incredible Arts team: Ms. Carter (Grades 2–7 Theater SET), Ms. Chou (Grades 2–7 Music & Orchestra SET), Ms. Harper (Kindergarten–Grade 1 Music & Drama TF), Ms. Cissell (Grades 2–7 Visual Arts SET), and Ms. Cusimano (Kindergarten–Grade 1 Art & Engineering SET) for the care, creativity, and dedication they bring to our students every day.

Behind every song, scene, and artistic piece were countless hours of practice, preparation, encouragement, and teamwork from students, teachers, parents, and staff. Thank you to everyone who made this season of the arts such a joyful and inspiring success. We are so proud of our performers and artists for sharing their talent, confidence, and hard work with our community! 🎭🎨👏

⚠️ Content note: this post includes images from a middle school biology dissection ⚠️

🔬 Grade 6 Biologists in Action! 🧠❤️

In Grade 6 Biology, students explore the world of living things—from the smallest building block, the cell, to the complex systems of the human body. Over the course of the year, they discover how cells, tissues, organs, and organ systems work together to keep us moving, thinking, and functioning every day.

Through hands-on experiences like models, labs, and guided dissections (including a pig heart and sheep brain), students build a deeper understanding of anatomy and physiology, and see firsthand how structure supports function. They also explore the idea of homeostasis and what can happen when the body’s balance is disrupted by disease.

Alongside biology, Grade 6 students also study chemistry and physics, helping them build a strong, well-rounded foundation in science and make connections across different areas of learning.
