Join us August 22nd & 23rd for Throwing Large (or Large and In Charge!)

Push the limits of the biggest a pot you can throw on the wheel! Whether its 5lbs, 10lbs, a whole 25lb bag of clay, or even more, we will discuss the limits of what clay can do and the structure of the material as we scale up our work. Jonathan will demonstrate techniques for pushing the boundaries of big pots! In this goal we will cover sectional pots and discover moon jars, and Onggi as inspirations which open the doors to larger and larger work.

Starting Sept 10th: Intermediate wheel throwing!

Let’s level up our plates, bowls, and cups! In this six-week class we will dive deeper into familiar forms to develop throwing with greater intention and precision, we will work on controlling form to make sets, and introduce texture and design elements to develop an artistic voice in functional ware. This class is intended for potters who have completed at least one 6 week session.

Another .studio teapot intensive done and dusted! Everyone finished with at least one teapot! Even our brand new baby potter who just started last October! 😉
