Central Intermediate proudly hosted its 4th Annual Battle of the Books competition! This incredible day was filled with excitement centered around a love for reading.

This competition fosters a reading culture like no other, bringing students together to read, collaborate, and compete as teams. It’s more than just a competition, it’s about cultivating a genuine joy for reading.

Seeing students engaged, encouraged, and excited about books is truly something special. This is what it looks like to build a lasting culture of reading, one filled with joy, connection, and a shared love for stories.

Our 5th graders were thrilled to host award-winning author Lisa Yee! Her visit was engaging, entertaining, and inspiring, and now our students are eager to devour her books. A huge thank you to Cavalier House Books for organizing this incredible event. Students who pre-ordered books even enjoyed a special author signing, making the experience extra memorable!
