Respect-Focused Therapy: Honoring Pain, Yourself, and Others For many people in therapy, respect—or the lack thereof—is a central theme of their work. The therapeutic relationship can help foster the healing process.
As we approach this historic election, it seems that respect is becoming a most significantly central theme to be considered, both in terms of our national politics and in terms of our larger societal role here in this country and in the world. Respect for ourselves as a body of people includes necessarily our respect for one another no matter what race, nationality, faith, orientation or ability. Respect universally is truly what keeps our function whole in humanity.
Respect-Focused Therapy is an approach to psychotherapy, which embraces and supplements all modalities, theoretical approaches and techniques, by concentrating on the operative meaning and healing power of respect. In doing so, we “custom-fit” theoretical modalities and tools around the particular needs of every individual, couple or family, while we work to help them expand their personal and interpersonal experiences in a genuinely respectful way. It is with full intention and focus on respect in the therapeutic relationship and process that RFT operates.

Respect is a verb. It is action oriented, requiring us to be intentionally proactive. What can you do today to respect yourself and someone you know?
I would like to invite you into a discussion about respect--a topic I feel is vital to the well being of each of us, our relationships, and our world. please feel free to say what you think respect is, how you have experienced being respected or disrespected, and how more respect could enhance the quality of life.

A WORLD OF RESPECT Newsletter October 2013 This is stupid, this government shutdown. But bigger than stupidity, is the vast pain and paralysis that is being posed by this move. Intimacy & Sexuality Intensive
February, 23. 9:00-4:30
Cost: $175
This intensive is open to all women who are struggling with intimacy in their current relationships or who are hoping to have a deeper level intimacy in their future relationships. After experiencing repeated sexual or emotional betrayal, it is common for women to build-up walls to protect themselves. There is hope in re-establishing intimacy and this intensive seeks to educate you on the dimensions of sexuality, identify your strengths and weaknesses in each dimension, and give you ideas on how to relight the flame. We will also discuss the types of intimacy and discuss in detail what commonly keeps us detached from our partners when it comes to intimacy. You will leave this intensive with tools to help your relationship grow. Email Kali at [email protected] to register.
