🇺🇸 Over the past two days our staff has been hard at work putting together 450 packages for our valued partners serving their clients. These partnerships have allowed us to reach thousands of Central Texans throughout the course of the pandemic. We are so grateful to be able to celebrate these partnerships and continue meeting the needs of our community by addressing food insecurity. Our staff wrote personalized letters to participants of partner organizations, which included a gift voucher for a Thanksgiving meal from HEB alongside a PPE care package provided by Austin Public Health. We would like to thank our partners for their participation in this Hands for Hope event and we will continue this tradition throughout the years to come. 💫

Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication this year, Jenae. You have done a lot and changed a lot this year. We hope that you continue to grow as a young professional and follow your dreams of a career in healthcare. One thing is for sure, Volunteer Healthcare Clinic is going to miss you as there Communications and Development Associate VISTA. Congratulations again!
The Volunteer Healthcare Clinic (VHC) has a dedicated corps of volunteers - 500+ strong annually - who all donate their time, talent and medical expertise to make our clinics a reality. Through their generosity, VHC is able to provide quality medical services to uninsured children and adults in Travis County, Texas who might not otherwise be able to access medical care. Given our unique volunteer-driven business model, recognizing and thanking volunteers is extremely important and Jenae Forni, VHC’s Communications & Development VISTA, played a big role in this year’s volunteer appreciation event. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, VHC’s annual volunteer appreciation party – cited as being one of volunteers’ favorite events - was not able to be held. Jenae worked closely with other VHC staff members to create a truly unique and fun ‘virtual’ volunteer appreciation event to celebrate the work of over 2,500 volunteers and supporters. Jenae conducted numerous video interviews with staff & volunteers and compiled them into a touching video that was part of this event. She also went through hundreds of photos to create a memory montage that captured volunteers in action. The feedback received from this virtual appreciation program was amazing; through Jenae’s efforts, hundreds of volunteers felt truly appreciated and shared that this special program lifted their spirits at a time when it was most needed.

We had an amazing time training our first batch of summer associates! Heal the City Free Clinic and Volunteer Healthcare Clinic are going to have an awesome summer! Looking forward to seeing all the things y'all will accomplish!

The Hispanic Impact Fund—a strategic program of the Foundation—has just announced an additional $70K in rapid-response grants to the Fund's past and current grant partners.

These additional grants have allowed us to "act swiftly to ensure the economic stability of Hispanic Central Texans, including our undocumented populations who are likely to be ineligible for federal stimulus assistance," says Program Manager of the Fund, Estevan Daniel Delgado.
