The Volunteer Healthcare Clinic (VHC) provides health care services and prevention education to low-income and uninsured people in Travis County who have nowhere else to turn. Utilizing a dedicated corps of over 400 volunteers, we provide primary care for acute and chronic conditions during 3 evening clinics each week. Two ARC docs are “Best of the Best” thanks to YOU! - Austin Regional Clinic Michael F. de Lota, MD, Family Medicine at ARC Kyle Plum Creek, was named Best Family/General Practice Physician, and Sunaina Suhag, MD, Pediatrics at ARC East 7th, was named Best Pediatrician in the Austin American Statesman/Austin 360 “2022 Best of the Best” Community Choice Awards contest.

VHC had a great turnout for our Open House earlier this afternoon for public officials and community members. VHC was one of the many Texas clinics participating in the Texas Association of Charitable Clinic's (TXACC's) statewide initiative to help spread the word about the great work being done by free & charitable clinics.
The VHC staff and board were thrilled to host Alison Alter, Mayor Pro-Tem, Julie Gilberg with Representative Gina Hinojosa's office, Representative Donna Howard, Dr. Kristie Loescher, TXACC Board Member and Joe Saceric, Executive Director of TXACC.

A great turnout for VHC's first Covid-19 Patient Forum. Patients have the opportunity to ask questions to a panel of VHC volunteer physicians, nurses & pharmacists about Covid-19. The Fire Department & Flu Busters are on-site to give Covid-19 & flu vaccines to anyone interested in receiving one.

It's Back to School time for kids and VHC needs your help with school supplies! Notebooks, pencils & pens, erasers, folders, composition notebooks, ear buds, etc. are all needed to fill 42 empty backpacks.

A big shout out to Manos de Cristo, the Sai Center of Austin and Magnolia Realty in Round Rock . Through their generosity, VHC has already filled many other backpacks with school supplies that are making kids & parents very happy!

VHC was excited to host the 'half Helen Foundation's Optical Prime Mobile Eye Clinic' on Wednesday. This newly launched bus provides vision exams and eye glasses at no cost to VHC patients. We expect to see them regularly throughout the summer.

Board member Aurora Trahan makes an early morning delivery of backpacks & school supplies. Thanks to the generosity of Jessica Murdock and the wonderful folks at Magnolia Realty, VHC kids will be going back to school in style!
Colony Park Back to School Bash
Austin Public Health will be providing free COVID-19 vaccines for adults and children 12 yrs and up. Central Health will provide $25 gift cards for first dose attendees and free t-shirts for fully vaccinated cardholders. Festivities will take place at the new Colony Park District Park and the Multipurpose Center.
Help APH prepare for the event, by securing a ticket with the total number of family members who will attend. Please like and share!
