Since closing the studio I have dedicated much time to the Bouldin Creek Neighborhood Association. We’ve cleaned parks, creeks, met with mayoral candidates and even city council members. I am so honored to celebrate Ricky Guerrero Park. This park has taken us 3 years to clear and clean. Now I get to teach yoga on Saturday mornings at this amazing place I call home. Please join me starting Saturday mornings in August from 8:30-9:30 am at Ricky Guerrero Park for free family yoga. Bring your mat, towel and water and let’s have a great time together.

I love practicing in small studios. There’s a charm and intimacy that allows a surrendering. This studio probably fits 10-12 students. Great Sunday morning practice with these large windows.

So honored to have this high school graduate take her first class from me at Breath and Body Yoga many years ago. Now’s she’s off to college. Her mother practiced at the Burnet road studio while she was pregnant with Amanda. I wonder how many people took their first classes at Breath and Body Yoga? It was an amazing place with the strong teaching, excellent teachers and dedicated students. What a gift 🎁 for 18 years.

No filter on any level. I’ve taught privates to Marilyn for over 10 years. She’s still doing drop backs and headstand. Personal privates are so much more than a just a practice. It’s a relationship. She’s now retired and continues to thrive on the mat. I’m so grateful for her and our relationship.

I love when the teacher says we are going to work Natarajasana, Dancer Pose. It’s so many poses in one. It’s a balance, a hamstring stretch, a quad stretch and let’s not forget, a back bend. Using a towel is a great way to practice lifting the chest.

Over the past 3 months I’ve moved from teaching in a studio to teaching at clients homes. One of the delights is stopping for tea in between sessions. I used to continue to work, cleaning, laundry, etc. But now, I exhale and sip tea.

This week I acquired a new private client. She literally had a Drs note. It stated “Breath and Body Yoga” and also listed the poses I needed to teach her. Our first session went well. I am amazed the level of knowledge of this doctor on yoga. Wish we had more drs prescribing yoga. I know the HSAs pay for it now.

During my first yoga class in Bali, I joined a session with a local instructor at the Yoga Barn. As I settled onto my mat at the front, I couldn't shake those familiar pre-class jitters that always seemed to accompany trying out a new studio, especially in a foreign country. Thoughts raced through my mind: What would I learn here? Would this class be any good?

Just as I was lost in my own thoughts, another yogi rolled out her mat beside me, and before I knew it, we were both diving into the practice. My body was still stiff from the long 30-hour plane rides in economy class, not to mention the 14-hour time difference messing with my internal clock. But I've always believed in the power of yoga to bring balance.

As we started focusing on our breath, I felt the tension easing from my mind. And as the class progressed, I couldn't help but notice the woman next to me moving through each pose with such grace and fluidity—it was like watching poetry in motion. Her practice moved my spirit.

At that moment, it hit me: this wasn't just about yoga poses. It was about leveling up every aspect of my life. And right there, in that humble yoga studio in Bali, I knew I was exactly where I needed to be.

Nuturish was Nurture’s You. The trip to Bali was the spiritual awakening I needed on every level. One of my new practices is a daily meditation. When I wake up in the morning, no need to check my phone for text messages or news. I take 20-30 minutes for myself. It’s a check- in, it’s a mediation. I invite everybody to start something new. The eclipse is a perfect time to create a new pattern, to reset and discover the beauty of presence with meditation.

Just practiced in this amazing space 🛖. Not only are there three of these studio, the vegan cafe is heavenly, the juice bar is one of best I’ve ever had (must be the fresh produce). I feel as if I’m in yoga heaven. It’s so beautiful and peaceful.
