Wisconsin Army Cadets

Drill Notice was sent earlier this week. Cadets and Recruits, be sure you are reporting your accountability per the Drill Notice for Admin Drill Sunday 16AUG26. ALL OFFICERS & INSTRUCTORS report your accountability to COL Blahnik.

Day 2 disaster cleanup and support operations. Today we loaded and delivered supplies as well cleaned some downed trees and yards in Menasha and Fox Crossing. So proud of these Army Cadets.

A group of Cadets and officers from the Wisconsin Army Cadets (Explorer Post 9899) hosted by the Wisconsin National Guard Appleton, participated in disaster relief operations in the Fox cities today, encountering devastation on an unimaginable scale. The Cadets distributed hundreds of pounds of food, water, tarps, emergency supplies, flashlights, batteries, drinks, and other essential items. Individuals from all over the state came together at the volunteer reception center to support these efforts, and we were proud to be involved. A small team will endeavor to deliver the last of the supplies tomorrow morning.

Our community was hit hard yesterday by severe storms, tornadoes, and winds reaching more than 150 mph. The damage is significant, and recovery will take time. We want our neighbors to know that the Wisconsin Army Cadets stand ready to assist however we can as our region begins to rebuild.

To our Cadets and families — we are here for you. If you need anything, please reach out to our command staff and let us know how we can support you.

Cadets, your help may be needed in the days and weeks ahead as cleanup and disaster‑recovery efforts begin. We will keep you informed and prepared as we navigate the recovery together.

EAA AirVenture 2026. Today is the final full day of operations. Cadets and staff have persevered through exceptionally challenging conditions, including extreme temperatures and managing a large number of vehicles with varying driver courtesy. Throughout this period, they have consistently delivered outstanding service and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to excellence. We appreciate the exceptional leadership provided by 2LT Gabe Maurer, Instructor Matt Gereau, Instructor Michael Benzing, Instructor Tonya Kaulum, and numerous other dedicated adults and parents who have selflessly contributed their time and expertise. We are also grateful for the generous donations of snacks, gift cards, and prizes. Our sincere appreciation goes out to everyone involved, with special recognition to the cadets who have worked tirelessly throughout the week. Tomorrow we will wrap up with a few morning hours of parking followed by packing and a quick trip back to the armory.
