Thank you to the businesses who joined us for this month’s Addison Business Exchange networking event at the library!

We loved connecting and sharing ideas on how the library can support the Addison business community, including exciting opportunities in our new makerspace, Sam’s Lab.

Out of an abundance of caution, tonight's show will be cancelled. There is no date to reschedule. While the Village of Addison avoids cancelling shows whenever possible, holding them rain or shine, tonight's circumstances go beyond that. With multiple threats of severe weather being conveyed to us by the National Weather Service, including EF2 tornados, strings of severe thunder storms, and flooding, we do not want to risk putting any of you, any of our performers, or any of the wonderful people behind the scenes of the event in danger tonight. Stay safe, and stay inside. Thank you.

Today's visit to Panther Park will need to be rescheduled due to the weather. Hope to see you all on Friday at Byron Park!

Last Sunday, we also celebrated the ribbon cutting of Sam’s Lab, our brand new makerspace!

Sam’s Lab honors Satyanarayana “Sam” Gunda—an engineer, business owner, mentor, and dedicated community advocate. After arriving in the U.S. from India in 1971, he built a life in Addison through his pioneering work in technology and tireless service to others, embodying the belief that opportunity and possibility belong to everyone. He championed exploration, learning, growth, and technology—values that inspire Sam’s Lab.

We were honored to celebrate with the Gunda family and share Sam’s life, memory, and legacy with our community through Sam’s Lab.

Turn your favorite book into a dazzling display piece! Drop in and decorate your book cover with rhinestones, gems, and sparkles galore—just like you've seen on TikTok. Bring your own book (your Summer Reading pick is perfect!) and we’ll supply everything else, including snacks.

More than 1,100 of you joined us for our grand reopening on Sunday, and we’re so thankful we got to celebrate together.
