Today is ... what seeds were planted that are ready to bloom in your life? ๐Ÿ๐Ÿชป๐ŸŒผ

Here at the Waterford Branch, the Community Pollinator Garden is buzzing with signs of hope, joy, and beauty! Even the bees know the is the place to gather. ๐Ÿฅฐ

This garden is also a sign of community. It's a pesticide-free habitat of native plants that support pollinators and other beneficial insects. ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿž๐Ÿชฒ It's maintained by the Waterford & District Horticultural Society with support from two other donor organizations: the Waterford and Townsend Historical Society and the Ontario Horticultural Association. ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿ’š Thank you for supporting healthy habitats in our community!

Visit the Branch and experience the magic for yourself.

๐ŸŒˆ In June, we celebrate and honour 2SLGBTQI+ communities and the voices that help make our communities stronger. The Library is a safe space where everyone belongs (yes, even you! Especially you.) ๐Ÿซถ

Visit your local Branch to explore curated Pride displays featuring resources for all ages! If you can't visit in person, explore our online catalogue and digital resources from home by searching keywords like "GSM" (Gender and Sexual Minorities).

๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’› "June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada, an opportunity to learn about the unique cultures, traditions and experiences of First Nations, Inuit and Mรฉtis who have lived on this land since time immemorial and whose presence continues to shape Canada today. It is also a moment for reflection and to recognize the ongoing impacts of colonization and to reflect on how we can all contribute to reconciliation." (www.rcaanc-cirnac.gc.ca)

One of the best way to gain a deeper understanding of First Nations, Inuit and Mรฉtis experiences is through their own voices! Read books by Indigenous authors, watch films or performances, and listen to music by Indigenous artists. You can do all of this with your card by visiting your local Branch and checking out a display, or going to ncpl.ca and exploring our under the "BORROW" heading. Free books, movies, music, and insight are waiting this . ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–คโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’›
