What does this mean? Each zone will have 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸 𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗺𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵 for yard waste collection.

If you need to dispose of additional yard waste outside of your zone's designated week, Norfolk County transfer stations do accept yard waste at no charge, except for 𝗯𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗵𝗲𝘀 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝟭" 𝗶𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗲𝗿, which are subject to tipping fees.

𝗣𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲: Notice of application to repeal Heritage designation By-law 2006-191 841 Norfolk Street North, Simcoe.

𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 that an application has been received under Part IV of the Ontario Heritage Act to repeal By-law 2006-191, which designates the property municipally known as 841 Norfolk Street North, Simcoe.

The property is located at the corner of Norfolk Street North and Fourteenth Concession Road, at the northern end of Simcoe. The building was designated in 2006 for its significance in terms of its original builder/owner and fine architectural detailing. The features of historic significance, including the ‘cat’s paw’ mouldings, large windows and brick detailing, remain unchanged.

The application seeks to repeal the designation By-law, thereby removing the property’s heritage status.

Notices have been delivered to residents in the affected areas this week, and they are asked to prepare for the upcoming work as per the instructions in the notices.

𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Norfolk County reminds residents that seasonal watering restrictions are in effect in urban areas until September 15 to help conserve water during peak summer demand.

The rules are set out in Norfolk County’s Watering Restrictions By-law 2003-63 (https://bit.ly/4aCfYdO), which regulates outdoor water use from May 15 to September 15, including set watering times and an odd/even schedule based on house number.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁:
• Water only from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and 7:00 to 10:00 p.m.
• Follow the odd/even watering schedule based on house number; for example, a house number of 210 may water only on even-numbered days each month

Newly planted sod is exempt for the first 24 hours following installation.

Paid parking is now in effect in designated lakeside communities across Norfolk County, operating daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Labour Day.

• Port Dover: Clinton Street parking lot, Lift Bridge Parking Lot, Harbour Street near the museum
• Turkey Point: Cedar Drive from Turkey Point Road to Old Hill Road
• Long Point: Erie Boulevard and Abigail Becker parking lot

Parking fees have been maintained at just $4 per hour for a 4th year.

Payment is available using the HotSpot app, by scanning a QR code posted in parking areas, or at electronic pay terminals. Cash is not accepted.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀
Resident Permits are available to Norfolk County residents or property owners for $35 per vehicle for the season. The permit covers four hours of paid parking per day and is available by contacting HotSpot Parking at 1-855-712-5888.

𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴
Vehicles displaying a valid Ministry of Transportation Accessible Parking Permit may park at no charge in a marked accessible parking space within a paid parking zone. The permit does not apply outside of designated accessible spaces.

Vehicles parked in designated paid parking zones without proper payment will be subject to a $75 fine.

𝗡𝗼𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗮𝗹 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆

Norfolk County announces the resolution of a legal matter involving Warren Cummings. The resolution includes a formal apology and retraction, payments of $46,750 towards Norfolk’s outstanding court-awarded recovery of costs, and a full and final release of all claims against the County and its officials.

As part of the resolution, Mr. Cummings has issued a written 𝗮𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 addressing statements previously made in court filings and on social media. In this statement, he confirms that he has 𝗻𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗱𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 by Norfolk County Council or staff, and fully withdraws any allegations suggesting improper conduct, dishonesty, or misconduct.

The apology specifically acknowledges that there was 𝗻𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝗼𝗿𝗿𝘂𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁, 𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗱𝘂𝘁𝘆 by members of Council or staff and retracts statements that may have questioned their integrity or conduct.

In addition to the apology, Mr. Cummings releases the Corporation of Norfolk County, Mayor Amy Martin, named Council members, and Norfolk’s Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) from 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗺𝘀, 𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿.

The 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 also confirms that no further legal action or proceedings will be pursued in relation to this matter and that Mr. Cummings will cease to utter, write, or publish any comments, statements or communications in any form, including oral, written, or online, or through any other media platform or forum, that are disparaging or that may be considered derogatory or detrimental to the reputation of named Council members, the Chief Administrative Officer, or the Corporation of Norfolk County.

Norfolk County acknowledges the resolution of this matter and appreciates the conclusion of all legal proceedings, as this action has cost the County direct significant resources.

The County remains committed to transparency, accountability, and serving the community with integrity and looks forward to continuing to focus on delivering key services and advancing priorities that support the well-being, growth, and prosperity of the community.
