The Ice Wolves are happy to announce the signing of our new Head Coach and Assistant General Manager, Taylor Harnett.

For the past decade Taylor has Coached in the BCHL NAHL, MJHL and most recently in the AJHL.

Most of his time was spent as Head Coach and GM of the Waywayseecappo Wolverines and was nominated for MJHL coach of the year during his time there.

Taylor is a proud member of Carry the Kettle First Nation and has also Coached at the National Aboriginal Hockey Championships.

“i’m extremely excited to get directly involved in the community and to get to know the fans, players and staff. It’s truly an honour, and the support I have been shown already has been amazing. I’ve heard great things about the community and the program. I’m thrilled to be able to connect and coordinate with Bob Beatty. His knowledge and experience is seasoned and proficient. I truly look forward to it, And I can’t wait to get started.”

The La Ronge Ice Wolves are pleased to announce the return of Bob Beatty to the organization as General Manager. Bob is no stranger to the Ice Wolves having been Head Coach/GM from 2004 to 2013 and leading us to back-to-back SJHL championships in 09-10 and 10-11.

He had previously coached the Humboldt Broncos for 7 years, leading them to three league finals and capturing the league and national Junior A title in 2003.

After La Ronge, Bob spent time coaching in the AJHL and BCHL and most recently with the Indigenous Sports Academy. In total he has spent 30 years coaching and is a member of the SJHL Hall of Fame in recognition of his career in the league.

We look forward to Bob bringing his many years of experience in player development as he takes over the reigns as the Wolves GM.

We have a couple of our boys and alumni playing in The Freddy Tournament this weekend in Saskatoon, SK! 🏒

Dayton Tailfeathers will be suiting up for his home team, the Kainai Braves, while Waylon Gardipy will be hitting the ice with his home team, the Beardys Blackhawks.

And of course, our hometown team, the La Ronge 89ers, will be hitting the ice this weekend too!

Friends in Saskatoon and surrounding area, come catch some great hockey action this weekend at Merlis Belsher Place!
