What’s Inside: Adult Day Program
The new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Home has been designed to include space for an Adult Day Program. We are very proud to share that this area has been generously sponsored by an anonymous donor.
Adult Day Programs are designed to support older adults who may benefit from social activities, recreation, and additional support during the day while continuing to live at home.
These programs can also provide valuable respite for family members and caregivers.
Program details, eligibility, schedules, and services will be determined closer to opening by the Saskatchewan Health Authority.

Spotlight Saturday!
A huge thank you to Bill and Kim Patterson, owners of Patterson Geophysics Inc., for their generous $12,000 donation to sponsor a resident suite in the new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Home.
Kim and Bill have been following our campaign from the beginning, knowing they wanted to help bring accessible health care to Northern Saskatchewan. Their generous sponsorship will help do just that.
The Pattersons have called La Ronge home for decades and have been a major part of industry in Northern Saskatchewan. Bill has operated Patterson Geophysics since the early 1980s, with Kim joining the team full-time around 26 years ago after 22 years with the Saskatchewan Legal Aid Commission.
Through challenges, industry changes, and weather, Patterson Geophysics has adapted over the years to remain successful and provide their clients with the best experience possible. They continue to hire local team members year after year & buy local as much as possible, supporting our Tri-Community economy.
Bill, Kim, and the whole Patterson Geophysics team, thank you for being part of our community and for your commitment to helping bring health care closer to home.
Local businesses are crucial to industry, our local economy, and the support that comes from putting community first. Our Tri-Community thrives because of business owners who support the communities that have supported them over the years.

What is a Tub / Spa Room?
The new La Ronge & Area Long-Term Care Home will include a tub room in each wing, for a total of six. This is in addition to the private shower located in every resident suite.
A tub room is a specially designed space that allows residents to safely enjoy a therapeutic bath with the assistance of trained staff.
For many residents, a traditional bathtub is no longer safe or accessible. These specialized tubs are designed with comfort, dignity, and safety in mind, helping residents maintain personal hygiene while also providing relaxation and therapeutic benefits.
Benefits of a tub room include:
- Improved comfort and relaxation
- Enhanced safety for residents and staff
- Therapeutic support for sore muscles and joints
- A dignified bathing experience for residents with mobility challenges
These spaces help ensure residents have access to safe, comfortable bathing facilities while receiving care close to home.

A heartfelt thank you to Terry and Terry Helary for their generous sponsorship of a resident suite within the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home.
La Ronge has always been home for Terry and Terry, where they raised their three children, Meaghan, Mitchell, and Nicole. Now retired, they plan to spend more time travelling and enjoying time with their family.
Mr. Terry spent more than 40 years with Kitsaki Management, serving in a variety of roles and, most recently before retiring, as the driving force and General Manager of Kitsaki Vegetation.
After a ten year career with the Lac La Ronge Indian Band in different departments and roles, Mrs. Terry spent much of her career with the Federal Government, working throughout Northern Saskatchewan.
Over the years Terry & Terry have been very involved in the community with the many activities their children were involved in. Mr. Terry served two terms on town council and actively pursued getting the residential streets paved and served as President on the Ice Wolves board from 2008 to 2012. Mrs Terry being the daughter of the late Don and Ida Allen has actively promoted the yearly Don Allen Saskaloppet.
Thank you, Terry and Terry, for your generosity and support. We are proud to have you as partners in our journey to bring healthcare closer to home.

It’s been a busy couple of weeks behind the scenes!

Spotlight Saturday!
This week we would like to thank the wonderful couple, Bill & Glenys Plunz, for their $12,000 sponsorship of a resident suite within the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home.
Bill & Glenys have lived in the La Ronge area since 1974 and have been an incredible part of our communities from the day they moved here!
From raising their family, growing their careers and being part of multiple organizations in town, such as Peanut Productions, they are true assets to our community, & we are so proud to have them call La Ronge Area home!
They reached out to our Fundraising Coordinator in December, knowing they would like to be a part of bringing accessible healthcare closer to home by sponsoring a resident suite; they are helping us reach our $5,000,000 goal to furnish & equip the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home, Dialysis Unit & Expanded Therapies Area.

Spotlight Sunday!
A huge THANK YOU to the entire Peanut Productions crew & supportive community for their $12,000 sponsorship of a resident suite within the new La Ronge & Area Long Term Care Home!
Peanut Productions has been putting on shows in our Tri-Community for well over 30 years. Their commitment to providing our community with amazing theatre is stronger than ever. The amount of effort put into the shows is absolutely incredible. They are a non-profit organization that helps our community prosper through the arts & bringing healthcare closer to home, with proceeds of multiple shows & raffles going directly to our campaign. For that, we are truly grateful!
From the Peanut Productions Crew:
"Peanut productions began in 1991 as a fundraising idea for the then-new hospital build. It took place in the Gordon Denny school gym for two nights. After three years of fundraising for that project, Peanut Productions became a yearly event. It’s been 33 years and 36 different plays. All proceeds after expenses have been returned to support the various community programs and projects. And this year, we have come full circle to our roots in support of the new long-term care facility. "
Thank you to all of the organizers & members of Peanut Productions for this outstanding donation for accessible healthcare in the North!
