Today, GOHOP attended Redeemer University's Community Expo! It was great to connect with students, staff, and reps from many other organizations in the city. Seeing friends was an added bonus!

On Sunday, we started the Global Week of Prayer with friends from more than 2200 prayer communities in more than half the countries of the world! This year, we are declaring the name of Jesus over our families, communities, churches, nations and the world.

Join GOHOP as we pray online together at 6 am, noon, 6 pm and midnight every day this week (Eastern Time).

Here are our areas of focus each day:

September 6 — The Alpha and Omega — Celebrating Jesus as the beginning and the end, the eternal and almighty Creator. Praying for unity in the church.

September 7 — The Good Shepherd — Reflecting on Jesus’ loving care, guidance, and protection for His flock. Praying for displaced people and refugees.

September 8 — The Prince of Peace — Focusing on the tranquillity, reconciliation, and hope that Jesus offers the world. Praying for refions experiencing war, civil unrest, and violence.

September 9 — The Way, the Truth, and the Life — Exploring Jesus as the true path, ultimate reality, and source of eternal life. Praying for unreached people groups.

September 10 — The Great High Priest — Honouring Jesus as our mediator, who understands our weaknesses and intercedes for us. Praying for the persecuted Church.

September 11 — The Lion of the Tribe of Judah — Remembering Jesus’s ultimate authority, strength, and triumph. Praying for justice and against exploitation.

September 12 — Immanuel God with Us — Celebrating the profound truth of God coming down to dwell intimately among His people. Praying for the lonely and marginalized in the world.

September 13 — King of Kings and Lord of Lords — Proclaiming Jesus’s supreme sovereignty, ultimate victory, and reign over all creation. Praying for world leaders and global revival.

Do you remember when the GOHOP prayer room was located in the basement of 541 Eatery & Exchange?

Staff at 541 often shared that they could sense when people had been praying. There was a tangible difference in the atmosphere. You could feel it. A deeper sense of peace, of hope, and welcome.

Spotted some familiar things in these paintings at Trinity Lutheran Church Hamilton.

Our prayer room is located in what was once the home of Faith Lutheran. Church. Faith is one of the congregations that joined together to become Trinity.

We are very thankful for the faithfulness of our Lutheran friends, and we are happy to add our prayers to a location that Jesus has been working in for so many years.

Megan Little and Randell Neudorf are already planning ahead to our fall season of Asah: Creating & Prayer workshops.

First workshop is on Tuesday, September 15th at 7pm in the GreaterOntario House Of Prayer prayer room.

Here is what Asah is all about in a nutshell:

First hour we use a prayer or spiritual practice and see if we can bend it towards creativity.

Second hour we take an art practice (like something you might learn at school) and see if we can bend it towards prayer.

The goal is the two things meet somewhere in the middle. 🙏
