We all encounter ethical dilemmas in our daily work with and for community, but rarely do organizations focus on ethics related to volunteer engagement.

This session gives practitioners an opportunity to understand the difference between personal, organizational, and professional ethics and to learn the core values and principles identified by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA).

Participants will learn a process for ethical decision-making that can be applied in any situation, then practice this using real-life scenarios related to volunteers. The session closes with specific strategies for building ethical awareness within an organization and helping both volunteers and staff handle ethical dilemmas more effectively.

Strengthening the Sector Together: Announcing Tracey Vavrek as IntegralOrg Executive Director.

Tracey brings a wealth of experience, heart, and a long-standing commitment to the nonprofit sector. Over the past 25+ years, she has served in diverse leadership roles within the community foundation network and broader charitable landscape, always driven by a central mission: helping nonprofits thrive so that communities remain strong, adaptive, and resilient.

Tracey’s warm approach centers on collaboration, transformational leadership, and meaningful capacity-building. She knows first-hand that nonprofits do their best work when their leaders are well-equipped, confident, and supported. Her deep commitment to organizational development in the sector is mirrored in her active service as a member of Rotary International, where she has led as district governor, championed foundation efforts, and mentored leaders across local clubs and districts.

Page Stuart, IntegralOrg Board Chair: "We are delighted to welcome Tracey as our Executive Director. Tracey's deep roots in sector leadership, commitment to capacity-building, and thoughtful approach to strengthening community resilience make her well-positioned to guide IntegralOrg into its next chapter of supporting Alberta's nonprofit community.”

Outside of her professional work, Tracey’s heart belongs to her family and community. Married to her husband Vince, they share a busy and fulfilling life with their four children, two grandchildren, and are eagerly anticipating the arrival of grandchild number three. On weekends, you’ll find Tracey outdoors exploring new hiking trails, tending to her garden, experimenting with new recipes, or hosting warm visits with family and friends.

"When we lift up nonprofit organizations and equip their leaders with the right tools, we don't just help individual organizations, we build healthier, more resilient communities for everyone. I'm honoured to step into the Executive Director role with IntegralOrg to support the vital work happening across our sector." -- Tracey Vavrek
