What are those metal structures outside cSPACE MARDA LOOP on the ARTPARK?
The sculptural public art installations inside the ARTCUBES on the south lawn, were a part of the The 20/20 Wavelength Project. This milestone moment began as a way to engage online and in person neighbourhoods as part of Alberta Culture Days, during the height of the global COVID-19 Pandemic.
This project captured pandemic-related reflections, community spirit, and resilience through art as an answer to the question “What Matters Now.” It included online and in-person components, featuring local artists and community submissions. An exhibition was held from late September through October 2020 in the cSPACE MARDA LOOP hallway galleries. The final phase of this project was the ARTCUBES. These large scale animal designs were cut from sheet metal and hung inside the ARTCUBES. The 20/20 Wavelength Project was our way to focus a creative light on the introspection we saw all around us, and foster a connection with the community through the isolating year that was 2020.
Follow along as we explore more Milestone Moments from cSPACE PROJECTS 15th anniversary year. Head to our link in bio to explore the full timeline.

Milestone moment! Over the past 15 years we have continued to make space into place through creating community connections and enhancing physical space. In 2018 the public art installation ‘Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow’ by artist’s Caitlind r.c. Brown, Wayne
Garrett and Lane Shordee began install.
If you’ve walked through the cSPACE MARDA LOOP south entrance, you likely have looked up in awe at this kinetic installation. Did you know that the sand in these hourglasses are filled with sand crushed from
sandstone bricks collected onsite during cSPACE’s renovations?
This year we celebrate 15 years of arts, culture, and community. Explore what’s here and be part of what’s next. Check out more milestone moments on our timeline. Link in bio.
