Ellis Robins Boys High 1953-1979
Ellis Robins School is a Rhodesian boys' high school that was founded in Salisbury, Rhodesia in 1953.
It is located in the suburb of Mabelreign in Salisbury (now called Harare). Next door is Mabelreign Girls High School, the school's sister school. The Ellis Robins school colours are yellow and blue, the badge has two Dolphins facing each other, and the school motto is "Esse Quam Videri" which means "It's Better To Be Than To Seem To Be". This motto comes from the family coat of arms of Sir Ellis
Merry xmas to all ex students and teacher. And may 2018 be the turning point for the School and zimbabwe 😊
I am sad to announce that Bernard Bossy (b. 16th October, 1956) lost his battle with cancer, and passed away peacefully today, Sunday August 9th, at midday, in Durban. Bernard attended both Ellis Robins and Prince Edward High Schools in Salisbury. He attested with the B.S.A.P in 1975, completed three years, left for 6 months, and then at the end of 1978 re-attested with the Force. He left as a D.S.O., Special Branch, in St. Mary's Township, Salisbury. He wrote to me a couple of weeks ago and said that the B.S.A.P. was the best time of his life, and that he would have stayed for 20 years if things were different. Bernard is pictured here with his son, Mike (a pilot with King Shaka Aviation). Bernard is survived by Mike and his wife, Margaret.
