Wichita State Connect is the campus hub for engagement with preK-12 students, families, educators, and community members, offering an interdisciplinary array of programs and services designed to activate the potential of higher education experiences. Located in the heart of the campus, Wichita State Connect provides a gathering space and launchpad for preK-12 field trips to campus, mixers and events, professional development for educators, and programs that engage WSU’s academic colleges with innovation campus industry partners, admissions, college readiness programs, schools, and community organizations. Wichita State Connect serves as a university gathering place for campus experiences for preK-12 students and their families, particularly among underrepresented and underserved communities in the Shocker Neighborhood, offering transformative applied learning experiences and college readiness programs for students.

We kicked off another year of our PK–12 Advisory Committee! It was great to reconnect, welcome new members, and spend time in committee work exploring how we can work together to strengthen PK–12 engagement, build connections, and create more intentional opportunities for students, schools and our campus community.

This week, Wichita State Connect had the honor of celebrating the retirement of Carla Williams after an incredible 11+ years of service to Wichita State University as the Communication Upward Bound Director.
Family, colleagues, former students and friends from near and far traveled to Wichita to celebrate Ms. Carla, her dedication, and the lasting impact she has made throughout her years of service.
