The grant, in partnership with Accion Opportunity Fund, Allies for Community Business, LiftFund, and Prospera, is geared toward food and beverage businesses open for at least two years and with revenue of less than $1 million. How is your MOP?

The O in MOP is for "Ownership."

Ownership (in this example) doesn't mean being the business owner. Taking ownership of tasks, responsibilities, and challenges shows trustworthiness and reliability.

I remember reading somewhere that taking ownership can be found at the intersection of individual passion, initiative and accountability.

There are several reasons why I recommend clients review their plans.

If not with someone from the SBDC, there are folks like myself and others who will view your business in a different light with brainstorming and authentic conversations. What comes from that? New ideas for marketing your product or service, maybe a new concept or process or a new revenue stream.

As a reminder, new ideas are great and all...someone has to execute them though. 🤓

"Networking" is such an overused word. When attending these events, are you genuinely networking or clinging to your buddies? When you participated in the last networking event, did you meet at least one person you could have a follow-up conversation?

How about your message, your pitch? Is it clear? How does your branding appear to your audience? Who is your audience? How is your competition doing, is it the industry, or are you falling behind? Think about it, where and how are you spending your time when you are supposed to be "networking?"

It's true, there's power in numbers.

Think of the last time you had a challenge or obstacle at your business. Did you contact a mentor, a partner business, a trusted friend from a different department? Don't live on that island all by yourself. When you collaborate with other business owners, or other colleagues, you have more eyes/minds to help resolve the problem.

Solopreneurs encounter an array of obstacles and challenges along the way. Add in all the responsibilities, and now we have a "time management" issue.

How many of us are "multi-taskers"? Stop it, put your hands down. Instead of attempting to master multi-tasking, prioritize your tasks to ensure your day succeeds.

Btw -- one doesn't need to be a business owner to have time management issues ⏱️

This is a great way to get in front of several bankers and ask questions or get some feedback from the lender him/herself.

As I talk to more and more business about the ERTCs it is apparent that there is confusion out there.
