Back in Time Bison Ranch is a small family farm in Wisconsin that started in 2021.
It's not everyday I get to rescue a calf for a frustrated Mom. By chance I went out and heard that distinct grunt from a single cow. They will usually call and wait but this was constant, clearly distressed. Worried there was an injured calf I cautiously entered the corral and climbed up the catwalk. I carefully coaxed that young man out from his hiding place. Mom continued to scold him for another 10 minutes.
That young bull is gonna be trouble if he doesn't learn to come when called.

Sometimes a mistake turns out to be a good thing. This little guy got caught in the fence wires. Turns out I forgot to plug the fence back in after the last lightning storm so it was able to make it back to Mom without getting shocked. He got quite a scolding from Mom but I was too panicked to film that one.

Come out to Knowlton House in Mosinee and pick up some Bison Meat for your next picnic! I'm here til 1pm today.
Mine don't listen as well as hers.

Two more in the last 2 days. I was starting to worry even though calving season is far from over. Miss 489 is one of our first from Griffin's Rockie Hill Bison and Miss 668 with the bent horn is from Rolling R Bison Ranch. Sired by our own Bulls that we purchased from Great Northern Bison Ranch. Our breeding program is turning out nicely.
