Sermon Only - May 31, 2026
Though the word trinity is not found in the scriptures, today’s second reading includes the apostolic greeting that begins the liturgy: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all. In the gospel Jesus sends his disciples forth to baptize in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit. More than a doctrine, the Trinity expresses the heart of our faith: we have experienced the God of creation made known in Jesus Christ and with us always through the Holy Spirit. We celebrate the mystery of the Holy Trinity in word and sacrament, as we profess the creed, and as we are sent into the world to bear witness to our faith.

HOPE IS ALIVE!
Hi everyone! Pastor Gaylene here! Writing to you from my office (dinner table) after a power outage! Power is back on and so am I! I hope this writing finds you well and wondering when this weird rain in May is coming again. Hubby mows the lawn and then it rains and it looks as if the yard has not been touched!
This week the message will be about The Holy Trinity. The Holy Trinity is one of the most difficult theologies in all of Christian literature to effectively explain. The Holy Trinity is made up of three parts; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. It has different comparisons given to it. It is often compared to a triangle, or trees…roots, trunk and branches and many others. But what if we think of the Holy Trinity as something that is continuously growing. Imagine a table where there is always room for more. Give it some thought. Even better come to worship this Sunday and hear about The Holy Trinity in a different way.

Pentecost Sunday, May 24 2026 - Sermon only
Day of Pentecost - May 24, 2026
Pentecost derives its name from the Jewish festival celebrating the harvest and the giving of the law on Mount Sinai fifty days after Passover. Fifty days after Easter, we celebrate the Holy Spirit as God’s presence within and among us. In Acts the Spirit arrives in rushing wind and flame, bringing God’s presence to all people. Paul reminds us that though we each have different capacities, we are unified in the Spirit that equips us with these gifts. Jesus breathes the Holy Spirit on his disciples, empowering them to forgive sin. We celebrate that we too are given the breath of the Holy Spirit and sent out to proclaim God’s redeeming love to all the world.

HOPE IS ALIVE!
Hi everyone! Pastor Gaylene here!
I hope you are all well and enjoying these last days of school, whether you are a student, teacher or admin, summer vacation is almost here! I spent 42 years in the classroom and looked forward to the few days of vacation between classes and kids and the summer’s worth of professional development! (NOT!!!)
This Sunday is a very special day in the life of the church. This Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. It is the day that is celebrated 50 days after Easter. It is known as the “Birthday of the Church.” This week’s lesson will come from Acts 2: 1-21. It is the very famous passage of the Holy Spirit descending on the Disciples with loud winds and tongues of fire. These tongues allow the Disciples to preach the gospel to the many nations represented in Jerusalem on that day. Their preaching had a phenomenal twist to it. Each of those countries present at this gathering heard the gospel preached in their own language. Now that’s a miracle! Now I cannot guarantee tongues of fire and mighty winds (but don’t discount the possibility). But I can guarantee the Gospel will be preached in English by a white haired woman down front in a red dress and sneakers. The central theme is in the receiving of the Holy Spirit as our partner that walks “alongside us” as we travel our life in Christ as our Advocate. The sermon title is “Pentecost…Not Your Average Worship Service.” So wear RED this Sunday and participate in this grand birthday celebration.
Sunday Schedule
9:00-9:45 Sunday School and Adult Bible Study

May 17, 2026 - Sermon replay -
In these days between Ascension and Pentecost, we gather with the disciples in the upper room, waiting for the Spirit to transform the church around the world. In today’s gospel Jesus prays for his followers and for their mission in his name. Amid religious, social, and economic divisions, we seek the unity that Jesus had with his Father. Made one in baptism, we go forth to live our faith in the world, eager for the unity that God intends for the whole human family.
